Vegomatic were officially born in 2000, marked by the Maxi-CD "Uluwatu". Drawing their inspiration from surf music, 80's electro, rock and pop music from the 60's/70's, the group has shaped its style since 1998. In 2003 Vegomatic released the concept album THE SURFIN ROBOTS "Cowabungiga" and then in 2004 "Surfin, Robots And The Correct Use of Rock and Roll" with a pop video for "French Up Song" (with singer Shendyl Movedo ). During this period Vegomatic started working in the world of Haute Couture and Design following a chance encounter with the Italian designer Maurizio Galante. Releasing a limited edition CD compilation of their compositions for the Haute Couture fashion designer (Vegomatic + Maurizio Galante, 2004) and a CD of 70 mns of variations around a common theme of the design exhibition Continuous Connection in New York in 2001 ( "Theme For Continuous Connection"). In 2003, Muriel and Jean-Michel Illouz Hague left the group to focus on their respective family lives.
In 2004, Macha Kouznetsova, joined the band to play the synthesizer and electronic effects and to sing along with Thierry Los. The pair found themselves continuing in the footsteps of the most famous French duos (close to Hardy-Dutronc and not unlike Bourvil-Maillant). The line up still included Gérard Gacoin (the original drummer) and Thierry's brother Eric Los on bass. Eric had originally been the drummer in Thierry's first band DODGE VEG-O-MATIC (taken from the title of a song by Jonathan Richman) along with Muriel Illouz but that's history.
The next album could only be compared to the idea that "Acid drops may be sweet for some but sour for others ! It is a retro-futuristic alchemy which can sometimes come across as being shocking but that is what this album was all about. "Ca c'est Vegomatic" was released in May 2006, and was distributed by Productions Speciales, (now sadly defunct distribution company). Wanting to be more brutal by capturing the essence of their live performances, the album contains "Action" which was originaly the music that Thierry Los composed for HUGO BOSS Energise world wide TV advs. Same for "Bleuroserougejaune" for LACOSTE Special Edition box Perfumes… The Warholesque video for Quelque Chose was broadcast on all french cable music channels at that period.
Four visits to Russia ensued, then a distribution agreement was signed with Soyuz, (the largest independent Russian label between the years 2006 and 2008). Soyuz have been distributing the last two albums ever since. Macha has since returned to her beloved studies and consequently moved to Moscow where she now pursues her acting.
During the past three years, Thierry Los has done a lot of things. In 2007 he signed to a major with an electro-disco track under the pseudonym MONTLERY ! In 2008 he re-surfaced with THE BZZ, a punk garage duo with old friend Emmanuel Berthe, playing 20 minute sets of primal energy with songs lasting between 15 seconds and 1 minute. He also clowned around that same year when he starred alongside Vodka Poulens in the crazy web music series : ROCK VOISINS directed by Carla Andipatin. GAUCHE GUITAR and LINE ET PILOU are fictitious bands put together for the occasion whose songs will be digitaly released soon.
The solo album MACHA, released at the same time (2012) as "AUTO STOP", shows the results of their work between 2007 and 2011. AUTO STOP is also a web-serie co-directed by Séverine L and Thierry Los. Thierry Los is currently working with the English soul man MYLES SANKO, based in Cambridge and he is already working on the next Vegomatic album which extends the concept of music and images.

Vegomatic est officiellement né en l'an 2000, à la sortie du maxi CD "Uluwatu". Les 4 premiers membres se sont réunis pour la première fois en septembre1998. Essentiellement electro-surf à l'époque, le groupe incluait Muriel à la basse qui bien plus tard sera la voix de leur tube indy " French Up Song" qui fit voyager le groupe sur tous les continents. En 2003 sort l'album concept "Cowabungiga"de THE SURFIN' ROBOTS, puis en 2004 "Surfin, robots and the correct use of Rock and Roll" avec "French Up Song". Le clavier Jean-Michel Haye quitte le groupe. Ce quatuor originel aura aussi travaillé dans le monde de la mode et du design grâce à la rencontre avec Maurizio Galante. Des disques à éditions limitées témoignent de ces expériences, celui d'une compilation des compositions des défilés Haute-Couture de Maurizio et celui des 70 mn de déclinaisons autour d'un même thème de l'exposition de design CONTINUOUS CONNECTION présentée à New York en 2001. Mi 2003, Muriel quitte à son tour le groupe pour se consacrer à sa vie de famille et à une autre carrière. En 2004, Macha Kouznetsova, synthétiseur et gadgets électroniques, chante désormais aux côtés de Thierry Los, perpétuant ainsi la grande tradition des duos français les plus fameux (proches des Hardy-Dutronc et pas si loin des Bourvil-Jacqueline Maillant). Ils sont toujours épaulés par Gérard Gacoin, batteur originel, et Eric Los, nouvel arrivant et frère de Thierry, à la basse. Qui officia à la batterie entre 1989 et 1995 au sein de DODGE VEG-O-MATIC avec Muriel et Thierry. Bonbon acidulé, sucré pour les uns, salé pour les autres, une alchimie rétro-futuriste parfois choc, plus souvent chic qui parcoure gentiment les routes européennes de 2004 à 2006. Puisant dans la surf music, les sons électroniques vintage, le rock garage et la pop music des 60/70s, le dernier album de Vegomatic est sorti en mai 2006 chez Productions Spéciales, disparu avec l'eau du bain du music bizness. Il se voulait plus brutal et débraillé, à l'image de leurs prestations scéniques. Le premier single « Action » est entré l'été 2006 en Play List sur LE MOUV pendant que le clip de « Quelque Chose » , le deuxième single, a été diffusé sur toutes les chaînes musicales câblées. Cependant, c'est en Russie que le groupe a reçu le meilleur accueil où ses deux albums à ce jour sont distribués par SOYOUZ, le plus gros label indépendant russe. Quatre visites en Russie entre 2006 et 2008 ont eu pour conséquences de nombreux articles élogieux dans la presse et un intérêt croissant du public russe. Thierry a monté en 2008 un duo garage/punk avec Manu Berthe alias Psycho Man, ami surfer de ses 20 ans : THE BZZ. Un show scénique de 20mn avec des titres entre 15secondes et 1 mn maxs. Mais il fait aussi le clown dans une Web-série qu'il a initié, ROCK VOISINS, réalisée par Carla Andipatin, aux côtés de Vodka Poulens avec qui il a monté GAUCHE GUITAR (pop rock anglo-saxonne) et LINE ET PILOU (chansons françaises) pour les besoins de la série.
Macha s'installe à Moscou en 2009 où elle exerce son métier de comédienne. Thierry Los lui a écrit et produit un album solo en cours de finalisation. Dans le même temps il compose aussi pour le soul man anglais MYLES SANKO.
En février 2012 sort Auto Stop, nouvel album d'instrumentaux et de titres à gimmicks vocaux servant de support à la web serie du même nom réalisée par Séverine L et Thierry Los. Le projet solo de MACHA est sorti le mois d'avant sous la forme d'un premier EP digital 5 titres.
