Poseedora de una de las voces mas enigmaticas que existen en Mexico, Valentina Gonzalez esta llevando el significado de "cantante mexicana" al siguiente nivel.
Iniciando su carrera como una de las vocalistas de las agrupaciones Sweet Electra, Sussie 4 y Galapago en Infinito Palmeras, Valentina viene a entregar un nuevo lenguaje musical en su album debut eponimo. Filtrando influencias de Jazz, Gospel, musica folclorica Mexicana a traves de un prisma polifonico minimalista, el resultado es una mexcla de lo tradicional en un sonido contemporaneo que es breve y elegante. Cantando en Ingles y Español, Valentina entrega una exuberante coleccion de composiciones que se benefician de un gusto exquisito y un arriesgado quehacer musical. "La Valentina" es el disco debut de Valentina y el tercer disco del sello independiente Verdigris, un subsello de Static Discos, de Tijuana.

Valentina González is probably one of Mexico's most intriguing vocalists. A songstress who possesses a beautiful and soulful voice that recalls the mannerisms of Jeff Buckley, Sidsel Endresen or Camille. Her debut album takes Jazz, Gospel, Mexican Folkloric influences and filters them through a minimal polyphonic prism. The result merges the traditional influences into a contemporary sound that is sparse and elegant – much like David Sylvian's Secrets of the Beehive or Nico's The Marble Index updated old musical forms into new ones. Singing in both English and Spanish, Valentina takes us across a lush collection of songs that benefit from her exquisite taste and adventurous foray into experimental song crafting. "La Valentina" is the third release of the Mexican label Verdigris a sub-label of Static Discos.
