Yeats.

ENGLISH

The Vad Vuc were formed on the 26th December 2000 and in short became one of the well-known and most appreciated bands in Ticino and Northern Italy. The Vad Vuc were the only band able to win three of the most important local contests for new comers (Corteglia, Locarno, Lugano), and thanks to its striking and energic live shows the band won the Kleiner Prix Walo in 2003, as best upcoming band of the year in Switzerland. They held live radio concerts and session, and one entire concert was broadcasted live in the whole country on 1st August 2004 (Swiss National Day).

6 CDs have now been released (Murrayfield Pub - 2003, Il Monastero dei Folli - 2004, Live in Cevio - 2005, Trans Roonkaya Express - 2006, The Vad Vuc & Orchestra – 2007, La parata dei secondi 2009) and The Vad Vuc have been on tour nearly every year in all Europe.

Among these, "Trans Roonkaya Express" had great success and went in the top ten during its first week, and stayed there for 11 weeks. Moreover, "Trans Roonkaya Express" was voted by the readers of CdT as best CD of the year, and best CD by a Swiss band. The same poll showed that the band was voted as best live act by a Swiss artist. Now The Vad Vuc are out with a brand new cd, "La parata dei secondi", which was released on 23rd October 2009, and it promptly entered the top ten.

"La parata dei secondi" is mainly a representation, a parade of individuals who live anonimously, and the album celebrates the beauty that can be found in the everyday. Differently from the previous albums, the band experimented new and appropriate sounds to support their meaningful lyrics. Many friends of the band joined in and recorded with them: the most famous artist is surely Steve Wickham, fiddler of The Waterboys, who plays his famous violin in Matto. Alongside with Wickham, the Gnu Quartet and Yo Yo Mundi also appear as guests of this parade, and Yo Yo Mundi, Steve Wickham and all the album guests joined The Vad Vuc during the actual tour.

The Vad Vuc have played many concerts and in many festivals in Europe, especially in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and France alongside artists such as Ska-P, Simone Cristicchi,Misfits, No Use for a Name, Jamie Clarke, Kelly Joyce, Gotthard, Goldfinger, Neck.

The Vad Vuc, who are in constant contact with Italian, German and French bands for collaborations and apparitions, have also appeared in several places other than their official CDs. To name a few, they composed the jingles for a weekly program which was broadcasted by the Swiss National TV in 2006, one year later the song "Vaya con Dios" has been chosen as a soundtrack for the TV program "A Modo Mio". In 2008, the band caught the attention of the famous promoter and manager of Linkin Park, Mike Galaxy, who asked the band to join a compilation, and this year the band appears on a charity compilation that includes more than 40 Italian artists.
