On a rainy Friday at 4pm in the fall of 2001, Eight Ladies & A Beau Tie performed for the first time at the University of Oregon’s Erb Memorial Union. Just three months later the Eight Ladies traded in their Beau Tie for ties of their own to become the University’s premier female a cappella group. Over the past six years, Divisi has grown from the roots of these original members, united by a common love of music and friendship.

Divisi (di'vizi) is an italian musical term which literally means divided; Our all-female a cappella group divides musical parts for the purpose of delivering rich harmonies and intricacies to listeners.

ROOTS is now available!!!

Divisi is proud to present this album as a celebration of three generations of women, 27 voices, and one mission: to create provocative and meaningful art while continually pushing the limits of contemporary a cappella.
