After 2 years and more than 50 gigs we've decided to call it a day while still at the top of our game. It's been a rollercoaster at times, and we've met a lot of very cool people. We're proud of the gigs we've played and the tunes we've recorded, but I think we all recognise that we've taken this as far as it can go.

untitled1961 played 51 gigs in just over two years, in London and the surrounding areas.

None of us have plans to stop being involved with music, either. Seb and Steve are now hosting Duel in the Deep, a monthly night at Catch in Shoreditch (last night was a great success, next month featuring The Firm, The Garruda Commute, Ginger Tom + tbc), and you'll be able to see all three of us all over London, playing with a whole heap of new projects.

The '61 spirit lives on in new bands, new styles, new people and new experiences.

Some words from us:

"Steve here - huge respect to Marc and Seb for some fantastic times. Love to all the bands and promoters who supported us - TSR, Dead x3, Scul Hazzards, Goo, Ellie, Alex, Ross&Julia, Laura, Sharonina&Marc, Trev, Hooky, Oli&Charlie, Brad and everyone I've forgotten. Keep an eye out for Songs From The Shows, and a couple of other very noisy things, in your neighbourhood soon."

"Seb present. The past two years have been grand- I'd like to think we went from strength to strength and never went downhill. Sometimes you just know when something is meant to end. I'm very proud of the music we created but I think the best thing about '61 is all the people I've met that I can now call 'friend'. Cheers to Steve and Marc for the good times and all the other bands and anyone else that made it what it was- and here's to even better times to come, musically and otherwise!"

"Marc - I'd like to thank Seb and Steve for teh good times, experiences and LOLZ we've had in the last 2 years. Thanks for all the support we've had from friends old and new, you made it worth the effort. Thanks to all the bands we've played with and had the pleasure of listening. Thanks to all the promoters who dared to put us on. Thanks to all the sound men who didn't complain it was too loud. Thanks to the bourbon biscuit we dropped on the floor that we tried to feed to the singer of the Subways. We'll see you in the near future in our various music projects but until then, TOODLE PIP!!"

Cheers for your support everyone,

Seb Steve Marc

"Playing as if no-one was watching- ie. without a care in the world how psychotic they look- this three piece bring their interlaced, chiming melodies into a catapult, set fire to them and fling them into a gargantuan concrete wall." - Brad Barrett, Playmusic Magazine
