Piano driven pop/rock is the unique blend that Baltimore band Unsearchable Riches has created. This rare concoction brings together a diverse audience of young, old and somewhere in between.
With the history of the band reaching back to 1999, the band has seen God move and lead in ways they never could have imagined. In the spring of 2002 for 12 months, CCM magazine had a spotlight article every month following the band's development deal with Forefront Records (home to dc Talk, Audio Adrenaline, Stacie Orrico and more). The band never released an album for Forefront Records and signed a "letter of intent" with Reunion Records (Michael W. Smith, Joy Williams) in March of 2003. Because of a company merge and cut-back, the band never recorded or released a record for Reunion records.
Unsearchable Riches loves to play live as much as possible and has had the pleasure of opening for groups such as Mercy Me, Audio Adrenaline, FFH, Avalon, Go Fish, ZoeGirl, among others. They have put out 3 CD's including their latest release Songs to be Sung including tracks from demos done with Forefront Records and producer John Mark Painter (Flemming and John), and other demos produced by the likes of Ian Eskelin from All Star United. Their song "Friday Night" was the 1 requested song on Lancaster, PA's radio stating WJTL's top 5 at 5 for several weeks.
Ephesians 3:8 is the verse in the Bible from which the band's name stems; it reads, Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given to me; to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. Even though we don't deserve it God has given us the opportunity to use our music to share with everyone we come across about His amazing love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and salvation.
