2006年1月、TOKIE(Bass)、青木裕(Guitar)、城戸紘志(Drums)で結成。
当初は雑誌主催イベント出演のための一夜限りのセッションバンドであったが、そのライブが評判となりパーマネントな活動を開始。
2007 年7月、1stアルバム「the Price of Fame」をリリース。以降、ライブを重ねていく中で、インスト・バンドの既成概念を払拭しながらより先鋭的なサウンドを展開。2008年7月にはスティーヴ・アルビニをエンジニアに迎えてシカゴ・レコーディング、10月に新作『too many secrets』としてリリース。
ベース、ギター、ドラム、それぞれ強力な個性を持ち合わせる三人がぶつかり合い、融合してインストゥルメンタル・ロックの新たなスタンダードを構築する。
Formed in January 2006, by TOKIE (Bass), Yutaka Aoki (Guitar), and Hiroshi Kido (Drums). Although they had initially gotten together as a temporary group for a one-off gig at a magazine-sponsored event, their performance won such acclaim that they decided to make it official.
In July of 2007, their first album, "the Price of Fame", is released. Through the live performances that followed, the band gradually developed its style into an even edgier and radical sound, successfully blowing away all stereotypical views that often tend to surround the idea of an "instrumental band".
In July of 2008, the band welcomes engineer, Steve Albini, and records their new album, "too many secrets", in Chicago. The Album gets released in October of the same year.
The powerful sounds of their Bass, Guitar and Drums collide and fuse together into what comprises a new standard and definition of "intrumental rock".
TOKIE (Bass)97年RIZE結成。00年メジャーデビューし、一気にブレイクを遂げる。同年"AJICO(UA、浅井健一、椎野恭一)"、02年には中村達也率いる"ロザリオス"に参加。近年かかわっているレコーディングやツアーは、Def Tech、安藤裕子、Tourbillon、My Little Lover、中納良恵(エゴ・ラッピン)ソロ、Bank Band、布袋寅泰、安室奈美恵、Micro、井上陽水など。Forms the band "RIZE" in 1997. Debuting under a major label in year 2000, the band instantly becomes a breakthrough sensation. In the same year, Tokie takes part in AJICO (UA, Kenichi Asai, Kyoichi Shiino). In 2002, she also participates in LOSARIOS, a group lead by Tatsuya Nakamura.
Tokie has recently supported groups and musicians such as Tomoyasu Hotei, Ryujin Kiyoshi, Yosui Inoue, Namie Amuro, Yuko Ando, Youshie Nakano ("EGO-WRAPPIN'"), Def Tech, Micro, Bank Band, Tourbillion, Yu Sakai, Superfly in their tours and recordings.
青木 裕 / Yutaka Aoki (Guitar)00年downy結成。照明を一切使用せずVJと演奏のコラボレーションで世界を作り上げるステージが注目を集める。05年VOLA&THEORIENTAL MACHINEへの参加、日暮愛葉のプロデュースなど、様々なプロジェクトでギタリスト、プロデューサー、デザイナーとして活動中。Forms "downy" in year 2000.
The band wins attention for its unique collaborations with VJs, creating a distinctive world without the use of any traditional lighting equipment.
Later in 2005, Yutaka joins "VOLA & THE ORIENTAL MACHINE".
He currently produces Aiha Higurashi and other artists, and takes part in various projects as guitarist, producer, and designer.
城戸 紘志 /Hiroshi Kido (Drums)単身アメリカに渡り、毎日ライブハウスを訪ねては現地のミュージシャンとセッションを繰り返し、武者修行の日々を送る。帰国後、浅井健一率いる"JUDE"の3代目ドラマーとして21歳でデビュー。
その後フジファブリックや吉井和哉などのレコーディング、ライブツアーに参加。幅広い知識とテクニックを持つ。Hiroshi traveled alone to the United States, where he spent his days in live music venues, jamming with local musicians.
After returning to Japan, he makes a professional debut as the third drummer for "JUDE", a band lead by Kenichi Asai. At the time, Hiroshi was 21 years old.
Afterwards, he participates in recordings and tours of bands and musicians such as "Fuji Fabric", Kazuya Yoshii and Furukawa Miki.
Hiroshi is known as a drummer with extensive knowledge and amazing technique.
