UNION AVENUE plays least expected cover versions of popular songs in the style of Johnny Cash during his early Sun session years in the 1950s.

From Pink Floyd to the Stones, Bob Marley to Creedence, to The Clash and The Undertones, Union Avenue make these songs sound like they were written by, or for, The Man In Black.

The band's version of Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' is a former record of the week on BBC Radio 1 and is the title track of their first mini-album.

Andrew Cardno's superb vocals sound more like Cash than the man himself. He is accompanied in Union Avenue by a line-up culled from some of Scotland's highest profile rockabilly, roots and blues bands.

Union Avenue's most recent releases are picking up rave reviews The first full-length album is called 'Now Here's Union Avenue', and there is also a single covering The Undertones' classic 'Teenage Kicks' complete with 'Ring Of Fire' style horns. They are currently working on material for their next project, which will be songs from Tarantino movies. The release will suitably by titled 'Union Avenue : Sing Quentin'.

Festival dates in Scotland, Finland and Spain have recently been confirmed, and more club dates will be added shortly.
