Uncle Moondog

Uncle Moondog is the brainchild of songwriter Mike McManus. Born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Mike studied at the Berklee School of music before relocating to Los Angeles in 1991. As the chief songwriter of the rock band Egodog, Mike and the band released three critically acclaimed albums between 1997 and 2001.

In 2003, Mike decided to fulfill the wishes of his friends with young children, to come up with a fun CD that both kids as well as their parents would enjoy. Dipping into the wildest corners of his imagination, he invented the concept of Uncle Moondog and all his friends.

The award-winning "Uncle Moondog" CD delves into pop, reggae, blues, 50s doo-wop, and country. Mike wrote, performed, and sang all the songs by himself. The result is a 10-song award-winning album of hilariously catchy tunes that both kids as well as their parents enjoy listening to over and over again.

The latest award-winning album, "Baloney Cake", revisits the toe-tappin, tail-waggin, good times vibe of the first album and introduces a new character, Paulie the Walrus. Be warned, though. "Baloney Cake" is laugh milk outta your nose funny!

Mike's next goal was to bring Uncle Moondog and the gang and up on the screen with the animated video for the song "New Goldfish". The extremely creative team at McLefty Productions has successfully captured the vibe of the song in a visually captivating animated feature that's been entertaining kids and parents at various film festivals across the globe!
