Interview with Mike Wornath in Jan. 2008 about UAFC.

Encouraged by a lot of positive feedback and appalled by pictures of starving children he saw on the internet and on television, “Counting Clouds” decided to start a charity project and to dedicate his music to people in need. In Nov. 2007, “United Artists for Charity” (UAFC) was founded. The idea of the project is to persuade as many musicians as possible to join the group, to make music together and to donate the proceeds to charity purposes. “Our goal is to create music in order to help the less privileged in their fight against hunger, Aids, pedophilia and more,” Mike says. “Music is a universal language, a beautiful way of saying things you just can't put into words. If we touch people’s hearts with music, maybe we can change some things in this world for the better.” The project wants to make people think about urgent problems on the planet. Therefore, each song is supposed to have a central theme.

The first song of UAFC, “Les Enfants Sont Notre Future”, united singers and artists from eight different countries, raising awareness of children in need. Other songs, including “Africa”, “Big Love”, “Children are our Future”, “Still Movements”, and “Deep Water”, followed. This spring UAFC want to release an album that includes songs artists from all around the globe. “We’re still looking for musicians who like to help. It doesn’t matter whether you want to contribute a song to the album or collaborate as an artist. Anyone is welcome to join us.” If possible, UAFC want to release albums on a regular basis, making their charity music a long-term project.
