Born and raised in the backwoods of a small town called Minden in Northwest Louisiana, Truth began writing at an early age. He found that through writing poetry, rap lyrics, and creating art, he was able to express himself and re-channel negative energy that was built up from seeing his family endure enormous financial hardships. His earlier writings echoed the harsh realities of poverty and how it directly affected the quality of life he and his family endured. From living without some of life's basic necessities, often taken for granted by others, Truth continued to evolve as a person and artist. His life turned a corner, when he was transferred to a city high school, where he began experiencing more of the eminent struggles that are commonly found in inner city and urban environments. It was also in the city high school, where Truth began to develop his skills as an MC, by participating in bathroom rap battles and freestyle ciphers. As his passion for the art form grew, so did his desire to become a world renowned rap artist. Having seen the incarceration and death of friends and family, not to mention his own personal brushes with the law, he managed to graduate high school and enroll into college. But after only a few semesters in college, Truth had to drop out due to more financial hardships. Shortly after, Truth made a life changing decision. Yearning for a change of scenery and with the support of family and friends, he left Louisiana and relocated to Orlando Florida with less than $200 and a notebook full of rhymes. When He first arrived in Orlando, he felt as though he had made a mistake and regret started to surface. Truth was without a place to call home and found himself bouncing from one friend's apartment to another, sleeping on their floors or even in their cars at times. He and a good friend found themselves with their back against the wall, when a recording deal with a small start-up label idea fell through. At the time, Truth was crashing at the house of a friend from Philly, who introduced him to an up and coming music producer and small entertainment company owner by the name of Big Dox. This meeting would quickly become a pivotal point in Truth's evolution as an artist. As a result of instant chemistry between the two, Big Dox introduced Truth to his first real studio experience and taught him how to create great records, rather than just having a hot sixteen or a freestyle. Big Dox continued to help Truth advance his music aspirations by becoming Truth's manager, engineer, cinematographer, as well as in-house and executive producer. From building a recording facility and entertainment label that they could call their own, to getting production from some of the Hip-Hops platinum producers, their union has proved to be very productive and successful. Truth's vast range as a songwriter is incredible and can only be rightfully compared to that of the marquee artist in the industry today. Besides writing the hottest bars and hooks on a rap record, he also writes records for R&B and Rock artists. Truth possesses a unique and natural tonality that separates him from other recording artist. His raspy voice, southern drawl, word play, swagger, catchy punch lines and metaphors, not to mention conscience content, will leave a lasting impression on those who listen to his music. He has been co-signed by some of Hip-Hops hottest Djs, producers, radio personalities, and artist from coast to coast. Truth has opened up for a host of major label recording and mainstream artist. He has an incredible work ethic, which has led to an extensive catalog of original songs and mixtape music to flood the streets with.
