TRUSS started producing in 2000 after being exposed to Shy FX and Aphex Twin by frequent co-contributor, DRIVE. A year later, he started DJing Drum and Bass to supplement his productions. After amassing a ridiculous grip of thrift store records, he started stretching out into different aliases to feed his love for experimental and soul music, most notably ROBE FLAX (pronounced 'Robbie' Flacks) and Max Growth. Truss has performed all over Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Missouri spinning a variety of beat-driven Drum and Bass inspired by the '95-'98 era in British DNB as well as North America's DNB exploits.

The Skeleton Key" is Truss' first full-length effort, containing 13 tracks showcasing his experimental style, which is heavily influenced by Cornwall, UK producer Plug (an alias of Luke Vibert) as well as the dubwise influence of Drum and Bass artists Breakage, Equinox, and Paradox. Tracks like "Sit Down, Gentlemen" reveal a penchant for early Photek-era break manipulation while songs such as the offbeat "Beautiful Champion" feed off the vibrant events of Northwest Arkansas' Esoteric Gen promotion company. The underappreciated talent in Arkansas and the midwest at large fuels a greater desire for Truss to create music that comments on national and international musical trends while maintaining a grounding necessary for independant and original ideas.
