rallentare né smettere mai, che t’inchioda eppure ti spinge irrimediabilmente a



ballare.



Le esibizioni live tenute dai Triad terminano quasi sempre con il pubblico che



abbandona i tavoli per ballare a fronte palco nell'entusiasmo generale.



LA NOSTRA STORIA



L’avventura comincia con la prima formazione di Triad nel 2002: 2 didgeridoo e batteria/percussioni. Una “prova musicale” basata sull’improvvisazione e poco strutturata, caratteristiche che hanno cominciato a definire da subito un modo nuovo di fare musica.

Sin da questo inizio tutto si è sviluppato intorno al suono del didgeridoo: un suono caldo, dalle radici lontane, quasi inesplorato per la cultura musicale europea. Quella di Triad era una musica creata per essere esclusivamente acustica, nessun effetto tanto meno elettronico. Il primo disco è Didjedrum (2002), titolo quanto mai rappresentativo, preludio ad una musica essenziale, evocatrice d’atmosfere. All’interno Run to the city si stacca dagli altri pezzi e col tempo si dimostrerà l’embrione di ciò che Triad avrebbe sviluppato durante questi ultimi anni.

Il ponte fra Triad e TriAd Vibration è stato il progetto Parallelo Zero che nasce da un’intuizione di Ezio Salfa, nuovo elemento che apporta con il suo basso elettrico una chiara componente jazz. L’idea è quella di immaginare e descrivere un viaggio intorno al mondo. Ogni luogo esplorato ha una sonorità tradizionale che lo rappresenta e che si riferisce alla storia del popolo che lo abita. A propria volta ognuna di queste sonorità scandisce le varie tappe del viaggio. Si salpa dall’Irlanda con una nave e si farà il giro della terra per mare, a tratti sui treni, sui cammelli. L’epilogo del viaggio non può che essere l’Australia, là dove ha origine il didgeridoo, rimasto per Parallelo Zero la componente fondamentale, come lo era stata per Triad.

Dopo un anno di studio Parallelo Zero presenta questo progetto ad Etnomosaico, festival di musica etnica che si tiene ad Alessandria. Da quella prima performance live, nasce subito un CD, World Tour (2003), voluto ed improvvisato dagli organizzatori della manifestazione.

Lo stimolo di questo progetto alquanto originale diventa il trampolino di lancio per definire un nuovo impegno e una vera identità di gruppo. Ora è il momento di TriAd Vibration. Uno dei didgeridoo si stacca definitivamente e rimane quello di Tannì assieme con le percussioni di Gennaro Scarpato e il basso di Ezio Salfa. E, come un’eco, torna Triad a titolare il disco che timbra e suggella la formazione definitiva e la volontà di fare principalmente musica propria.



Dopo l’entusiasmante tournee estiva e il grande successo consacrato da due sold out al Blue Note di Milano,i TriAd Vibration tornano a suonare l’album d’esordio nel cuore della città per presentare il vino battezzato con il loro nome, voluto dal produttore Stefano Milanesi.



Tre vitigni: uno per le percussioni, uno per il basso elettrico, uno per il didgeridoo.



The adventure begins with the first formation of Triad back in 2002: 2 didgeridoo’s and drums/percussion. A “musical tryout” based on improvisation and little structure, characteristics that quickly have defined their new way of making music.

From the start, everything has been developed around the sound of the didgeridoo: a warm sound, faraway roots, almost unexplored by the European music culture. The sound of Triad was originally created to be only acoustic without any effects. The first album was called Didjedrum (2002), a very representative title, the prelude to an essential music where atmospheres are evoked. On the album the track Run to the city stands apart of the other tracks and in time shows itself to be the embryo of what Triad has developed in these last years.

The bridge between Triad and TriAd Vibration was the project Parallelo Zero, that was born from the intuition of Ezio Salfa, who was a new element of the band and the person that brought a clear sound of jazz into the group. The idea of Parallelo Zero was imagining and describing a journey around the world. Every explored place has his own traditional sonority which represents the place itself and refers to the history of it’s inhabitants.

Each of these sonorities are therefore the various halting-places in the journey. The journey takes off in Ireland on board of a big ship and will guide you around the world, over the sea, over land, sometimes by train or camels. Epilogue of the journey is of course Australia, where the didgeridoo finds its origin and which is the instrument that in Parallelo Zero still remains the main component as it had been in Triad.

After a year of studying, Parallelo Zero presents its project at Etnomosaico, an ethnic music festival which takes place every year in Alessandria (Italy). The organisers of the festival decide to make a registration of that first live performance and thus a new C.D. is made: World Tour (2003).

The stimulation of this quite original project becomes the trampoline for finding the definition of a new direction and a clear identity for the band. Now the time is right for the sound of TriAd Vibration. One didgeridoo definitely leaves the group and only Tannì’s didgeridoo remains, together with the percussion and drums of Gennaro Scarpato and Ezio Salfa’s bass. Just like an echo, the name Triad returns to be the title of the C.D., which seals the definite formation of the band and their desire to make only their own music.



TriAd Vibration have come to a definitive form in their latest album called Triad: the final result of the intensive story of the birth and transformation of a band made out of only ‘rhythmical’ musicians.

Ezio Salfa electric bass, Gennaro Scarpato percussion and drum, ‘Tannì’ Walter Mandelli didgeridoo, and a variety of small and big instruments from all over the world. It is hard to define this ‘free’ music, classify and confine it into rigid stylistic parameters. The influences of the various compositions come from different styles of music such as jungle, tribal, funky, ethno and world music, which create an essential rhythm pattern growing throughout the album. Still, in each song, contaminations of jazz and Latin jazz can be clearly felt. The final result is a very original and personal synthesis, a gateway to the infinite sonorities of the musical universe.

They call it TribalJazz, as the characterizing element of their music is definitely the sound of the didgeridoo.



The everchanging live performances of TriAd Vibration, always with the partecipation of special guests to underline the Tribal Jazz project, usually turn out with a joyful public that leave their tables to dance in front of the stage in a big celebration: such as was the case in several sold out shows at Blue Note of Milan, the Italian temple of Jazz, at Rototom Sunsplash in Osoppo, the most important reggae festival of Europe (where they have their own stage as resident guests), or everywhere they performed.
