He hung up his spurs and picked up the guitar in August of 1994 after having played around with the guitar from about the age of eight. His Nanny (grandmother) was a talented musician, and he eagerly learned from watching her. She taught him a few chords here and there. She’d tell him to stick with it even though his fingers were killing him. “It was hard to believe that my grandmaw had tougher hands than me.” Trent says.

In Trent’s younger years, he followed another passion; the rodeo life. Calf roping and bull riding was the only thing on my mind. It was great while it lasted; however, that love was cut short by the responsibilities of a young family. Music was his sanity.

Working in the blue-collar world to pay the bills, then burning the midnight oils teaching himself to play the guitar. No matter how the day went, Trent was flying high on adrenaline when the night fell.

Along with a passion for music, a few young musicians with bad equipment and little formal musical training, the Fly-By-Nite Band was born. Playing their first gig in 1997 at a home town bar in St. Amant, Louisiana began it all and Trent has never looked back.

“It was that night I knew I wanted more—I loved it.” Trent remembers. Although the faces in the band have changed throughout the past ten years, the style and the core sound of the music has stayed the same.

Trent’s southern country rock style, which was inspired by Hank Williams, Jr., and Lynard Skynard, had found its way into many South Louisiana and Mississippi bars, dance halls, and nightclubs before leading him to Nashville on July 5, 2006.

At the age of 33, Trent is finally at a place in his life where following his dream does not jeopardize his family. Deanna, his wife of 14 years, has always supported his dreams from the home front while raising their three children: Trett, Destiny, and Sadie. Deanna will tell you that Trent knows only how to dream big. He does not give up until he has given it all he can. It is that courage that brought them together and has kept his music fresh.

Trent is a down-to-earth country boy who loves to entertain. His straight talk and kind heart has opened many doors for him. He has had the pleasure of being the opening act for Aaron Tippin, Billy Joe Royal, Neil McCoy, Tracy Lawrence, The Great Divide, and a variety of other Nashville artists. He is currently working on a new album in Nashville with his producer, Tom Paden, by his side. Trent's debut album, Easy Street, came out in early November 2006. Trent is currently working on a new album to be released. To learn more about Trent, check out his website at TrentBourgeois.com
