Travis Kahle started playing banjo at the age of 13 after going to his first bluegrass shows with his family in the late 1990's. Originally from Wayne, WV, Travis now makes his home in Lexington, KY where he is an MBA student at the University of Kentucky. Prior to attending UK, Travis received a degree in marketing from Indiana University. At Indiana, Travis started The Neighbors Band with Andy Blastick and Adam Niess in the fall of 2005. Travis and Andy, along with Ryan Lepley, also founded the Indana University Bluegrass and Traditional Music Club in April 2005. It was IU's first official bluegrass music organization.

In 2006, Travis came out with his first album, "The Road Back Home." As Travis's first recording effort, the album has been very successful among traditional bluegrass and gospel fans. Other musicians on the album included Heather Adkins, Jessica Adkins, and Rudy Rohr (all of the band Wilson Creek), Robert Maynard of Don Rigsby and The Midnight Call, and Joe Toney. Travis's second album is scheduled for release in the late spring.
