Tracey K. Houston is a Nashville-based country and rockabilly artist with five albums and numerous hit singles under her belt. A former long-haul truck driver, she's about as country and down-to-earth as you can get.

Born and raised in Western Canada, surrounded by "country music and mountains", Tracey K. comes by her musical ability naturally it runs in the family. All her relatives played and sang, and she remembers many a jam session the family would have singing and playing country music from the '40s through '70s. While growing up in Quesnel, British Columbia, she "discovered" her mother's record collection of country and rock n' roll from the 50s and 60s, and was in heaven! Her major musical influence is Loretta Lynn, but other favorites include Jean Shepard, Tammy Wynette, Marty Robbins, Faron Young, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, George Jones and Merle Haggard to mention just a few.

She recorded her first demos in 1991 and in 1993 her first single He's Not For Real was released to radio on ATI Records, doing very well in Canada and reaching 12 on the European charts. In 1995 Tracey K. moved to Nashville (via Dallas) to further pursue her country music career. Her first album Falling For You released in 1997 scored a Number One single of the title track on the Independent charts in the U.S. later that year, remaining in the Top 20 for eight weeks. CMT Europe and GAC also picked up the video for this single. In 1998 the New York State Country Music Association nominated Tracey K. Houston as Female Vocalist of the Year. In May 1999 Tracey K. taped a performance at the Honky Tonk Heroes Showcase at the Club LaFiesta for the United Nations peace-keeping forces in Bosnia and Kosovo.

Tracey K. released her second album I'm Not the Same Girl (on her Indie label Songbird Productions) in 2000. All seven singles from the album, Count Me Out, Deja Blue, Hot Steamy Night in Dixie, I'm Not The Same Girl, Lonesome, The Girl In Oklahoma, and The Middle of the Bed, received chart action worldwide. Her 2003 single You Did Everything Right received worldwide chart action, and her 2004 single I Heard the Bluebirds Sing (duet with Grand Ole Opry Star, Jim Ed Brown) remained on the Canadian charts for 4 months, while riding high on the European charts. She has won industry awards including Canadian Recording Artist of the Year (2000) and Album of the Year (2001) from The Lonestar State Country Music Association (Best of Texas Music Awards) in Beaumont, Texas. Tracey K. taped a PBS one-hour concert TV Special in 2001 entitled Tracey K's Café which was aired nationally. In June of that year, she made another TV appearance on Nashville Video Showcase.

Tracey K. Houston has toured extensively throughout Western Canada and the United States, and in 2004 she toured Europe for the first time. She has appeared at Fan Fair in Nashville consistently since 1997 to meet and chat with old and new fans alike. She has opened for David Frizzell, Razzy Bailey, Jo-el Sonnier, Crystal Gayle and others, but a highlight for her was opening for The Queen of Country Music, Kitty Wells (& Johnny Wright). She has also guested on the Ernest Tubb Record Shop Midnight Jamboree live radio show.

This year Tracey K. is touring with her country and rockabilly show, plus several other shows, including Hey Loretta, The Girl From Butcher Holler™, a tribute in song and story, which she wrote, choreographed, and produced – dedicated to Loretta Lynn. The accompanying tribute CD, entitled Salute To Loretta Lynn had two singles released from it, Dear Uncle Sam and Our Hearts Are Holding Hands, the latter being a duet with Troy Cook Jr., which went to Number One on the European CMA charts in January 2008. Her latest country album, Just The Way I Am, with the title cut as the first single, was released September 2008. The single went to Number 12 on the European charts and was added to the Americana Music Chart in Nashville two months later.

Her brand new offering, ROCKIN' LITTLE ANGEL is now available, through CDBaby, Amazon, and other digital and retail outlets (in stores by special order). Be sure to put on your dancing shoes, it's a very danceable album.
