TOXON ist eine Band, die sich schon seit vielen Jahren im Universum zwischen Jazz, Metal, Industrial, Punk und Hardcore bewegt. Immer auf der Hatz nach neuen Verbindungen verschiendenster Stilistiken um diese in ihr eigenes Klangspektrum zwanglos und homogen einzugliedern. Von einer reinen Instrumentalbesetzung ( „Six of a perfect pair" ) entwickelten wir uns zu einer Mischung aus den Klängen, irgendwo zwischen Jazz und Metal. Dabei ist es völlig natürlich, das der Sänger und Growler auch seine Trompete in den Songs zum Klingen bringt ( die sonst im Berliner Schauspielhaus im Konzerthausorchester ertönt ). Siebensaitige Gitarren sind ebenfalls nicht erforderlich, da der tonale Raum zwischen Bass und Gitarre soviel Möglichkeiten birgt, das wir wahrscheinlich noch hundert Jahre damit zubringen könnten zu erforschen was man damit wohl noch alles anstellen könnte ( während unser Gitarrist weiter fleissig GEMA-Hits schreibt, kleiner scherz mus sein…). Nicht weit von der Trompetete ist auch der Zusammenhang zwischen anderen, im Metalbereich eher selten angesiedelten Klängen von Gongs, U-bahnen, Männerchören und Kuhglocken zu suchen. Einflüsse von Bands wie „Meshuggah", „Voivod", „Steve Vai" und „ Motörhead" tun ihr Übriges……
Und genau Unverfrorenheit, aber gegebener Respekt sind die Zutaten, die der Band ihren Sound und auch ihren Namen geben.
TOXON sind eine Band, die Zuhörer fordert und an ihre Grenzen bringen will und in nicht gängige Metal, Hardcore oder in Industrial-Schubladen passt was die Arbeit an unserem zweiten Album, ( was dieses Jahr aufgenommen wird!!! ) wahnsinnig spannend macht!!!! Seid gespannt wie nen Flitzbogen, wir sinds auch!!!!!

TOXON is a band constantly traveling within the styles of jazz, metal, industrial, punk and hardcore for many years now.
Always on the lookout to connect the most diverse of stylistics, homogeneously integrating these into TOXONs own
specific sound spectrum, while making the process feel surprisingly unconstrained. Formerly an all instrumental band
("Six of a perfect pair") we developed into a blend of sounds deriving from somewhere between jazz and metal.
As such, witnessing the lead singer/growler implementing his trumpet in songs should come across as quite natural
(remark - "the instrument which he actually only plays at the Berlin Schauspielhaus while on duty with the "Konzerthausorchester").
Nor is there a need for seven-stringed guitar eye candies and such, as the tonal space between bass and guitar is still
a vast playground so unexhausted it will provide us with probably whole decades worth of exploration
(while surely our guitarist would continue writing chart hits, as usual. Well, probably not really).
However it does not end with the uncommon use of a trumpet here. TOXON are known to utilize a variety of many other
rarely heard sound sources in todays metal genre such as gongs, subway sounds, male choirs or even cowbells, to name a few.
Couple that with influences from the likes of "Meshuggah", "Voivod", "Steve Vai" and "Motörhead" and you might start getting the picture.
Add some impertinence, mix it with a proper dose of respect, and you will have the very ingredients that give TOXON its name and
its unique sound. TOXON is also a band that challenges its listeners, trying to take them to the limit, and is certainly not one
to be pegged as a purely metal, hardcore or industrial styled performer. And that is definitely a thing that makes working on our
current album (to be recorded this year!!) all the more exciting! Curious? Then get your first impressions from the songs
