"The old man went on to say that the hunter was a different thing than men supposed. He said that men believe the blood of the slain to be of no consequence but that the wolf knows better. He said that the wolf is a being of great order and that it knows what men do not: that there is no order in the world save that which death has put there." Boston-based To The Wolves have been steadily building momentum in the New England metal scene since their inception in 2007. In that time the band has shared the stage with some of the most notable bands in the industry including Trap Them, The Ocean, Kylesa and Jucifer, and have independently released 3 self -produced recordings, which have drawn comparisons to bands all over the spectrum of heavy music such as Converge, Today is the day and Meshuggah., among others Their most recent release, Communication Killers, sees To The Wolves at their heaviest and most aggressive, and serves as a primer for an upcoming full-length that the band is planning for a winter 2010-2011 release.

To the Wolves - Symmetry Lost

Record Label: None

Release Date: Spring 2009

Eric Loranger - Absolute Punk

“As an unsigned band, To The Wolves took advantage of their situation with some serious DIY ethics. Entirely self-produced, mixed, mastered, and designed, this is the product of full artistic control on the band’s part, with no money-driven corporate scheming (“hmm, mmkay, breakdown here, melodic singing part here, how’re we doing on that acoustic instrumental exactly halfway through the album?”) From an artistic standpoint alone, this is the way that things ought to be done. "

“From a musical standpoint, To The Wolves maintain their firm grip on intense, tuned-down-to-Z grooves, with monster vocals that never fall into self-parody, but instead genuinely provoke fear.”

To the Wolves - Death & The Company You Keep

Record Label: None

Release Date: Fall 2007

Eric Loranger - Absolute Punk

“As Company churned on and I found myself 12 minutes older and all the wiser, I came to realize there’s a pretty specific reason why I was convulsing, and that would be the body-rattling tightness of To The Wolves’ sound. For every snare hit or cymbal ding, there’s a correspondingly rhythmic guitar chug so that the result is a machine both intimidating and groovy. It boils down to great execution and articulation, and the listener just gets a sense right off the bat that this would be an awesome live band.”
