2003 is the official birth year of Torn From Red. Mikey and Nate, along with two of their best friends formed the band in January. Within a year the band had recorded its first EP and begun touring the East Coast. On this tour in 2004 the guys met up with producer Sam Barnhart, in Nashville, Tnn. Sam was currently running the club, Rocketown and was a founding member of the band Bleach (tooth and nail rec). That summer Torn From Red headed into the studio with Sam and recording engineer Russ Fox, also from Bleach. The result was a 3 song cd entitled, "Beautiful & Strange". The band continued touring and used this cd to get them slots on many summer events, including Cornerstone and the Purple Door festival.

The band then inked a deal with Nashville based, Bridge Street Artist Agency and soon found themselves touring the mid-west. By 2006 Torn From Red had shared the stage with bands such as Flyleaf, Red, Emory, Paramore, House of Heroes, Haste The Day, The Myriad, Day of Fire, Eleventyseven, The Wedding and many more. After a busy year of touring the band then decided it was time to head into the studio again.

This time Torn From Red decided to record with Dan Malsch (Forever the Sickest Kids, Tantric, The Naked Brothers Band) at Sound Mine Studios in the Poconos, Pa. The band released this 5 song cd entitled "The Heartbeat EP" in 2007 in front of a sold out crowd at a local club. The title track, "Heartbeat", received rotations on several local stations and was featured on many internet podcasts and stations. Torn From Red continued touring and without any distribution sold over 1500 copies of "The Heartbeat EP" at shows within the first year of its release. After many talks Torn From Red and Bridge Street Artist Agency decided to part ways in an attempt to further the bands career. 2008 brought the band full circle with the filming of their first HD music video for their title track, "Heartbeat". Torn From Red then re-released an enhanced version of, "The Heartbeat EP", including the music video, live performances and interviews with the band. They threw another local show in front of a crowd of just under 500 to premier the video.

In late 2008 the band had its first lineup change in it's 6 year history. Mikey and Nate brought drummer Steve Perko, founder of custom drum company, "19 Star Drums", on board to push there talents and create a new sound that would open up their demographic. 2009 has been a year of renaissance for Torn From Red. With a new lineup, a completely new set and the release of there first single, "Tonight's the Night" the band couldn't be happier with the direction they are heading in. The momentum has been building and with loads of experience, strong goals and hard work ethic, it won't be long until they taste real success and rise to the top of the business.
