Born and bred in the windy coastal town of Kristiansund, in central Norway.
Keyboard player and vocalist since the age of 15. Heavily influenced by 60s jazz and psychedelia, 70s hard and progressive rock, 80s metal and new wave, 90s grunge and electronica, and still trying to keep up with whatever happens on the music scene at any given time. Good music is good music; it doesn't matter what you call it. If you think otherwise, you're missing out on a lot of good stuff, IMHO.
Master of film arts and sciences, with a minor degree in French, from NTNU.
Former member of such legendary acts as:
- Arizona (formerly Bad) (hard rock/classic rock) (1985-88)
- Easy Target (hard rock) (1988)
- Gate One (pop/blue-eyed soul) (1989-90)
- Rain Men (pop/synth pop) (1989)
- Nobody Knows (blues/rock) (1990-91)
- Plysj (pop/rock/alternative) (1993-95)
- Navel Flush (progressive/alternative/rock) (2000-01)
- ION (progressive/rock/synth/industrial) (2001-03)
- Allfader (metal) (2001-04)
- Pscience (progressive rock/metal) (2004-08)
During my band wise hiatus in the late 90's, I made music for plays, short films, TV and such.
There have also been - occasionally there still are - other fruitful collaborations going down. Notably with my good pals (both musically and personally) from Kristiansund, formative and John Berge.
BTW, John and I are now getting back together to create some serious hits!
I perform on the following equipment, live/studio rig combined:
- Korg N5EX (my newest axe - from 1998!)
- Korg M1 (a modern classic; we all know this one)
- Korg DW8000 (I have two words for ya: Kevin Moore!)
- Korg Poly 800 (not very versatile, but up for some intriguing sounds)
- Korg Wavestation SR (for those wide open sonic dreamscapes - luv it!)
- Roland D-50 (another modern classic; irresistible in every way)
- Roland JX8P (my oldest, dearest synth; I've had it since 1986)
- Roland SH-2000 (monophonic, dirty little bugger, for solos and stuff)
and my Shure SM-58 mic (suits my voice like none other I know).
Yes, I'm basically a Korg/Roland guy! Oh, you guessed .?
Stands by Quicklok (sturdy stuff!), seating by Yamaha (comfy stuff!).
My old trusted Yamaha DX7S is sadly defunct .
So, does anybody have a suitable power supply to spare?
Computing by Apple - exclusively. Why? Because it saves me a lot of trouble. And those babies look darn good, too!
