Reviews:

Tom Urwin - "Technique"

More manic psy hard dance from the brain of Tom Urwin. Rolling basslines from the trancefloor fight with hoover saw riffs from the hard floor. The vibes are electric with the best of both worlds we think. An exciting new hybrid from the ever changing world of hard dance. Get on board. (Written by Ed Real)

Tom Urwin - "Defiance"

Urwin strikes again! More psy trance influenced high powered hard house that makes us go whoosh! Showcasing the best of both worlds in an underground hard-edged fashion that has the beats of full power psy and the saw from hard NRG filth we reckon this'll strike more than just a nerve baby! (Written by Ed Real)

Tom Urwin - "Deadly Force"

Prime time turbo charged hard house that comes packed in awesome production and is going to find a home with all you filth lovers! Big support to come from the likes of Rodi Styles, Stevens and Glazby without doubt as Severe Impact lay down the law for 2009! (Written by Ed Real)

Tom Urwin & Prohibited - "Druids"

The original Druids is a more straight up hard houser [than the Equinox remix], verging on NRG. A harder kick and energetic rolling bassline underpin the track, with great use of a long vocal sample splitting up the build up and maintaining interest as the track morphs along. The breakdown is typically short for the style and heralds the evil riff which has a really original sound and pattern, all kind of off-beat. The main I like about the track is all the little psy-trance style edits at the end of the phrases with clever use of filters and fx. I do love a good edit. (Written by Dave Curtis)

Tom Urwin - "Psyordfish":

Wicked cross over material from SID label manager Tom Unwin. Full on psy trance groove and zippy sounds with hard house samples, drum rolls and filth hoovers. A lot of folk have tried to capture this fusion but we reckon this is one of the best efforts yet. More please - best of both worlds!

Firefox & Rico - "Chemically Fueled":

The original version of Chemically Fueled is not for the faint hearted - those who know of Tom Firefox will have an idea what to expect! A clean kick and rasping percussion lead up to what can only be described as a pummelling bassline which gives the track a huge amount of energy. Filtered hoover patterns and stabs and plenty of cheeky edits complete the build up to the well constructed breakdown, where an eerie string section masks the coming riff of pure filth. I’m a big fan of tracks which don’t drop where you think they’re going to and this one will no doubt cause a few red faces on the dancefloor. When it does drop the bassline again gives the track a lot of energy with the various stabs helping carry it home. (Written by Dave Curtis)

Evo D & Rigid - "Shakey Ground" (Firefox Remix):

Firefox gets busy with the hoovers and offbeat basslines for this super-charged assault on 'Shakey Ground', the brand new single from Nuwave stars Evo D & Rigid. If you like your house hard and filled with energy, make sure you check this immediately! (Written by Ollie Perris)

Firefox - "Lock 'n Load"

"Firefox’s ‘Lock n Load’ completes the package. The UK’s answer to Grady G & Narc, Tom’s offering is a hard, fast NRG workout with huge offbeat bass, crazy percussion, distorted synths and acid, and a nagging hoover riff to finish the track off." (Written by Dave Curtis)

Firefox - "A Greater Darkness"

Firefox delivers an aural assault for the first release on Genuine Error Records, which comes backed with two NRG-fuelled remixes from A.M.G & Robbie Muir. The Original Mix is the one we've highlighted however, comprising a huge offbeat bass and menacing hoover riff. (Written by Ollie Perris)
