To Live is to Die | Band Bio

To Live is to Die, composed of Nino Spadaro, Andy Hanna, J.J. Dunnell, Matt Wilson, and Dave Townsend is one of the most quickly rising bands of the Cleveland area. With J.J. clocking in at 18 years old, Nino at 17, and Andy & Matt and Dave at 19, they are also one of the youngest recognized bands in the area. Together they create a thick wall of hard-hitting, ear piercing, Cleveland metal/hardcore. With each member drawing from their own individual music interests and applying it to the band's unique music theory, they result in a new breed of metal which is fresh and innovative, yet still contains plenty of throw backs to the bands which inspired them to play in the first place.

To Live is to Die, officially formed in May of 2005. They quickly assembled a long list of songs, a dedicated and quickly growing fan base, and even more so, a strong family amongst themselves. Since then they have performed numerous shows, including shows with national recording artists Mushroomhead, Dead to Fall, Unearth, The Misfits, Bury Your Dead, Dope, Dog Fashion Disco, The Alter Boys, otep kittie and even more performances along side local bands, including their own headliners at respected clubs like The Cleveland Agora, Peabody's and The Phantasy. They also independently recorded and released a 2 full lengthed self-titled records. The recording was done at the Lava Room recording studio under production by acclaimed producers Mike Brown and Ryan Pennington.there sophmore release was also done at lava recording in July 2007.we will be in studio for our 3rd c.d.shortly

To Live is to Die's music is heavy, and at the same time is full of harmony and true musical theory. J.J.'s drumming is quick and technical, and lays the perfect foundation for the band. He never relies on tried and true beats, and is always on the hunt for something new to keep every song sounding inventive and energetic. And although Andys bass playing is found on To Live is to Dies debut record, Andy moved to guitar beside Nino in March 2006, with good friend Matt Wilson taking over on four-string duty. Not one to be underestimated, Matt carries the bottom end with both skill and strength. Together Nino and Andy keep the six string section held down. With each approaching every song with separate music theories, they combine their strengths to form a solid and signature sound. Daves vocals are loud and aggressive and complete the band.

Currently, To Live is to Die continues to write and play regularly in the Cleveland area. They are also actively searching for a recording company to sign and fully publish them. The band's goal is nothing less than world domination.
