Tokyo Diiva was born in the late 80s in the prestigious streets of New York to Jamaican parents. As the middle child between four siblings, Tokyo quickly learned how to get attention. She was the funny one, the outgoing one and the entertainer of the family. Her father was in and out of jail and as a result, she was raised by her mother alone. It was her mother who instilled a strong work ethic that Tokyo still displays today – these deep seeded characteristics have resulted in Tokyo spending countless hours in the studio, writing and rehearsing. At a young age, Tokyo decided she wanted to be a model/actress. At the age of 6, she went to Barbizon school for modeling where she learned how to strut her stuff. This helped shape Tokyo’s musical sensibility and attitude. Lyrics about feeling hot and walking tough are fun, real life situations, sexy and competitive.
Tragically her first manager and very close friend died suddenly of a heart attack. Tokyo was left on her own to develop mad skills in the self promotion department. In the fall of 2006 Tokyo was discovered rapping along to her iPod on the F train at Rockefeller Center. It wasn’t long until success came knocking on her door. Tokyo co-wrote the song “Welcome to the Bad Girls Club” with Jay Levine that can be heard weekly on the Oxygen network as the opening theme for the reality show “The Bad Girls Club.” Tokyo’s MySpace is a prime example of a new media sensation with over 20 million song plays and over 2 million profile views in less than two years. It wasn’t long before Tokyo landed in the 1 spot for unsigned artists on MySpace. This amazing achievement prompted MTV to invite Tokyo to be the first unsigned artist to perform on the network's popular TRL show. As a result Tokyo has been dubbed one of fashion’s hottest new trendsetters throughout the US and other countries.
In 2007 Tokyo’s Juice Krew alone has become its own cultural phenomenon with skaters, singers, rappers, dancers, clothing designers and most importantly, trendsetters. She is the founder and CEO of the fan based Juice Krew and appointed the Presidents of local Juice Krew clubs that hold auditions for new members within their own city. Over 20 US cities have formed their own Juice Krews in 2007 .
Tokyo describes her style as “A futuristic twist on Emo with a sprinkle of animation!” Tokyo Diiva’s musical influences range from a variety of artists & entertainers from the 80’s a such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, & Andy Warhol . Tokyo describes her Music as “GLAM POP" an infusion of different genres and a touch of IDGAF [giggles]. "I don't really put my music into any specific category. I call my Syle of music GlamPop. Its fun, its dancey, its kunty, its glamorous. My goal is for people to listen to my music with their eyes closed and see and glitter, pows, & an endless field of happiness and gorgeous things. Not Bubblegum, more like a SowerPowers. Something that gets you into the moment and make your face twist like you just ate a crybaby."

Tokyo Diiva has been a Part of thr Make A WIsh Charity Ball of Miami Performing for the Ball 2years Now. "i Love being a Part of something so Real and Magical thats for a Good Cause. This Charity by far is my favorite and i Love what they are doing for the kids! Until i can afford to buy a million wishes i will always be here to donate my services. Performing for a Good Cause is better than performing for and amount of Money."
Tokyos fashion comes from every and anything; Cartoons, Comics, Movies, Old People, Random things she'll probably see on the street. "I could watch Titanic today and realize i want to be a sexy captain tomorrow. Watch a Disney Movie and want to Look like a Fairy Or Ariel from the little Mermaid, as was my inspiration for my Make a Wish Ball Red Carpet Look! I love old people becuase they always seem to never throw away things and always have like a super kool broach or jacket, this is why i love shopping in Thrift/Vintage stores, its absolutely Magical."
