Toast experienced their early years in the multi-cultural city of El Paso, TX. It was there that Mike Majors, who also worked with the Mars Volta, produced their first album, “Disengaged From the Outside World”. In order to expand their fan base and venue opportunities, Toast relocated to the heart of the live music capitol of the world, Austin, TX.

Every live performance by Toast gives witness to an innovative blend of genres rolled up into one spellbinding performance. This musical quartet produces tightly executed compositions, crossed with elements of funk, jazz, drum and bass, psychedelia, and progressive rock. As Mike Huereque of Study Breaks phrased it, “They have a hint of every spice in their recipe. Something everyone can enjoy”.

Toasts’ progressive approach to musical experiences also takes full advantage of the on-stage space and often welcomes other art forms onto their set to share their improvised inspiration. They do no hesitate to make use of light synchronization and design, 3D visual projectors, on-stage theatrics, and live paintings. The audience can always expect a fresh and cultivating experience.

Toast has shared the stage with a number of talented artists from different corners of the map including: Particle, Moving Matter, Antibalas Afro-Beat Orchestra, and Papa Mali, just to name a few.

THE MAD SCIENCE

In 2009, after 5 years of preparation and development, Toast’s long-anticipated studio album “The Mad Science” will be released. Recorded by Austin’s own Grammy-winning triple-platinum engineer, Stuart Sullivan (Sublime, Butthole Surfers, Meat Puppets). The album is an experimental journey covering everything from riff-based, jazzy funk to Reggae mixed with politically charged Afro-beat rhythms. Not to mention, their progressive rock never stops short of cleverly written lyrics. The album has something for everyone and offers an exclusive eccentricity that stems from a creative source yet unheard by the public ear. “The Mad Science” is mastered at Airshow Mastering in Boulder, CO by Jim Wilson (Grupo Fantasmo, Octopus Project, Eric Johnson) and has been heavily promoted and distributed to every market using Home Grown Music label, iTunes, Amazon.
