TIRK066 - THE LOVE SUPREME ft. BENJAMIN JAMES SMITH _ WAITING FOR THE LOVE EP



It’s not often we end up releasing four singles from an album, but with the tuneful Love Supreme standout track ‘Waiting For The Love’ we seem to have achieved it. Penned with UK based Benjamin James Smith, (who also delivers the snappy vocal) the track screamed single right from the start. Heading up the remix package are two stomping mixes from synth-wizards, Chicken Lips. Dean and Andy keep the catchy vocal but overdrive things in the synth department. Their vast armoury of sounds and accomplished arrangement makes this mix one to be really proud of.
The original, of course, features in the package as do two new mixes from The Love Supreme themselves. The first takes a German detour with their ‘Kraut Diversion’, the style borrowed heavily from heroes such as Faust, Can and Amon Düül II and then their ‘Reversion’ deploys their own synth factory to major effect; white noise, analog burbles and a fat-wet bass melds together in a dancefloor workout.
Fellow Italians, The Mushrooms Project, slow the groove down for their remix; haunting pads and floating atmospherics all build to a rolling bass, slow-mo-incrusted crescendo. As if this quality remix package wasn’t enough for one release, our Milan based alchemists brew up a b-side as well; the hypnotic, creeping ‘The Tea Party’.

TIRK048 - ARCHITEQ - GREEN + GOLD



Young, London based Scotsman Architeq (AKA Sam Annand) has made a lot of noise without actually releasing a lot of material since his debut 'Birds Of Prey' EP on Tirk early last year. The odd well chosen remix aside, he’s been burying himself in the studio making his debut album, while around him a slow, organic transatlantic buzz has building as the blogs and download sites quietly people towards his unique brand of dubby, swingy, electronic funk.
Green + Gold will be out early September.

TIRK047 - THE TIME AND SPACE MACHINE - CHILDREN OF THE SUN & ZEITGHOST



We didn't even know that Richard Norris was part of legendary UK acid house bods Jack the Tab alongside Genesis P Orridge, or that his partner in Goldstar was called. Richard Norris, or that he'd produced a Joe
Strummer single.
We did know he'd co-made one of our favourite slow London Balearic tunes from '90 as the Grid (Floatation), and of course that as half of Beyond the Wizards Sleeve with Erol Alkan he was half responsible for kick-starting what we'll sure will be another interesting chapter in the endless tale of post '88 underground musical sub genres.
We like the prefix "psych" in front of things - folk, pop, rock - but we're not sure what to put it in front of when it comes to the The Time and Space Machine, Norris's new solo project - dance? disco? funk?
Whatever, we feel kind of privileged to be playing label home to TT&SM original material, and this first release, a double A side 7 Inch.

TIRK046 - SON OF SOUND - NO RETRIBUTION EP



Son of Sound aka Henry Maldonado has been a fixture on his Native NY house scene since his first Strictly release way back in 1992, releasing on Henry Street, Emotive and Cutting amongst others. So it’s no surprise to find Big Apple funk running strong through this, his Tirk debut .
