Gearing up for the 2012 release of his third full length recording, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Tim Miller gives his fans an extraordinary look into what's on the horizon via YouTube: videos of himself in the studio, raw, stripped down and in the moment, playing powerful, compelling new tunes like "Roses," "Love, Your Broken Home" and "Going Fast."
Pulling a 180 from the full-on, slick production of his debut album Out Of The Box and his 2008 breakthrough Adelaide, the Dallas based indie artist shares his latest insightful stories about the human condition without the bells, whistles and studio magic that often obscures the true soul of the artist. The pared down, vocal-acoustic guitar vibe on these latest tracks continues a stylistic transformation that Miller began on his most recent release, the five track 2009 EP Sessions Lamar, which featured a cover of Cat Stevens' iconic "Father and Son" and new acoustic versions of three songs from Adelaide. In 2010, he released an acoustic guitar/mandolin version of "St. Louis" (originally from his first album) as a standalone single.
Miller's creative shift is all the more remarkable in light of the glowing reviews, radio play and licensing activity that he generated for Out Of The Box and Adelaide. All Access Magazine made note of his "very persuasive and effortless delivery that wraps around the listener." Wildy's World wrote: "Miller…makes it sound like he's living it as he sings." Midwest Record added, "Nick Drake may be dead and not coming back unless another commercial discovers him, but until he does come back, Drake fans can please themselves with Miller and his new batch of songs and remixes." Out Of The Box received adds at over 100 college radio stations, and tracks from the album received licensing agreements for MTV's My Super Sweet 16, Real World, Road Rules and The Challenge.
Upping Miller's creative game and industry stature considerably, Adelaide was produced by Chris Bell (Erykah Badu, Polyphonic Spree, Eagles) and mastered by Adam Ayan (Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Phish, Ani DiFranco). In addition to receiving considerable airplay at college and public radio, the album was a Paste Magazine Recommends selection and was licensed for a wide variety of popular TV shows: MTV's Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, The Hills, The City, The Stylist, Parental Control, Cribs, True Life, My Life as Liz, My Super Sweet 16, My Super Sweet Sixteen Battles, Teen Cribs, The World of Jenks, The Hard Times of RJ Berger, Warren the Ape, Teen Wolf; Oxygen Network's Bad Girls Club; and E! Network's Keeping up with the Kardashians, and Khloe and Kourtney Take Miami. . . .
