There are moments when Time has a lot in common with artists like Andre 3000 or Mac Dre. - rapreviews.com

Chris "Time" Steele was born in 1985, in his hometown Denver, CO. Time started writing when he was 13 and has been performing live since 15. He's been featured on many web-sites, magazines and radio stations all over the world from Chicago to Switzerland.

“Time represents certainly the future of independent HipHop,” review by www.bokson.net.

Time released the Meditation of Thought EP when he was 16. He later went on to release his full scale album "Litterture", which has received international recognition. He then linked up with AwareNess and they formed “Calm.” and released their album “Anti-Smiles”, which received international recognition and acclaim. Time has just released his new solo album “The Fantastic Reality”, which deals with finding salvation through an alternative reality swerving through a psychedelic world of Salvador Dali, magic and hallucinations. Time has collapsed his lungs, one at a show and one eating meatloaf. His songs are a schizophrenic journey through his life riddled with complex messages shaped like a rubix cube. He is currently enrolled in his other group CALM. with producer AwareNess.

Time and AwareNess are best known for their live shows that are full of energy and emotion. His music is true and doesn't contain the typical jiggyness stereotyped in with Hiphop music. He is a straight-edge kid who has been deemed independent Hiphop's prodigy by www.bokson.net.

“Time is on the frontlines of underground hip-hop”- Orivation Magazine

"Anti-Smiles" could possibly be the intellectual hip-hop album of the year."- Hiphoplinguistics.com

"calm.'s music keeps you entertained with thumping melodic beats that mesmerize while enchanting your imagination with solid lyrics" -The Rappers Review

"TIME is the future of hip hop" - Bokson.net

"AwareNess' beats recall earlier work by RZA, Pete Rock and Large Pro but he manages to transcend all of them by incorporating his own particular sound, previously undefined"- Rapreviews.com

"In heaven this is all we F$King bump."- Jesus Christ

"Time’s personal and heartfelt lyrics accomplish his goal of writing songs “that give people the chills and goose bumps on their necks.” And AwareNess’ eclectically cerebral production lays perhaps the perfect canvas for the words, stories and contemplations presented in the music."- Hiphoplinguistics.com

"Anti-Smiles" could possibly be the intellectual hip-hop album of the year."- Hiphoplinguistics.com

"Anti-Smiles boasts a litany of thoughtful literary and cultural allusions, including an especially evocative use of a sample from Thomas Newman's "American Beauty" that serves to dissect and expose the general malaise that has plagued America in recent years. Although Anti-Smiles reflects the dark side of our collective psyche, it's also a statement of hope in the face of fear and self-doubt." - The Westword (Tom Murphy)

If there was an award for the "sound hardest to place a finger on",

then up-and-coming rapper Time would certainly win it. Time's lyrics are chalked full of Salvador Dali-esque psychedelia and metaphors. -URB

"Spanish surrealists Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel are two key references Time drops on "The Fantastic Reality," even dedicating a song to them with "Images of Two Dead Spaniards." It is easily the most graceful composition of the album, backed by an epic beat many a street rapper would envy him for. Mentioning names like Matisse, Chagall, and Rousseau, Time's imagery here seems to be inspired by actual paintings.

Time one minute can be spotted "with James Joyce in a Rolls Royce / next to Bukowski with the whiskey voice," the next "hitch-hikin' with Kerouac," who just so happens to bump Time's latest tape. Believe it or not, there is such a place, and it's called Fantastic. Up until now it only existed in Time's head, but with the release of "The Fantastic Reality" it has taken on musical and lyrical form." - Rapreviews.com

Calm. has written

the perfect prescription for a musical form whose exterior facade is often

slick while being filled with insipid cultural detritus.

His poetically brilliant words incisively point out the core issues

plaguing our culture and the modern psyche over deeply evocative music

that matches its dark subject matter. — Murphy (Westword)

The Fantastic Reality is chock-full of rousing, original beats; each track has its own identity and stands apart from the rest, but all come together to create a coherent album. - Synthesis.net

Armed with great wit, and Awareness' dope beats, Time orchestrates a more than enjoyable LP, and dare I say it in these times.great? - Life On Wax

Time aims for greatness with this record and it’s clearly an ambitious affair on all levels. But unlike many of his indie rock contemporaries, with this mixture of songs, Time doesn’t aim for obscurity. A number of these songs are lively, upbeat, buoyant songs that one could easily hear on a Top 40 hip hop station. However, none of these tracks is throwaway or lacking in depth and artistry and that fact is sure to make it a classic for many years to come. - Cairn Magazine

Time, The Fantastic Reality (Self-released). To a song, this is one of the most innovative and lyrically brilliant hip-hop albums of the past several years. Borrowing imagery from Salvador Dalí and James Cameron, plus sounds and modified samples from a dizzying array of sources, Time has crafted an inspired masterpiece of poetry, flow and imagination. — Murphy (Westword)

Time is one of those MCs who acts like he doesn’t give a fuck what you think of him. - URB Magazine
