Fazia tempo que os fãs do Tihuana cobravam o lançamento de um registro ao vivo da banda. Prestes a completar 10 anos de estrada, o Tihuana pareceu esperar o seu melhor momento na carreira para, finalmente, lançar o tão esperado CD e DVD ao vivo, o primeiro registro oficial de toda a energia que consagrou a banda pelos palcos do Brasil e do exterior. "Tropa de Elite Ao Vivo", em CD e DVD, chega nas lojas de todo o país no
próximo dia 20/05.
Gravado na zona leste de São Paulo, no dia 23 de dezembro, véspera do Natal de 2007, uma super estrutura de palco, luz, som e cenário foi montada para que a banda fizesse um apanhado de toda sua carreira, mostrando o seu já tradicional caldeirão sonoro composto de várias influências. Seguindo essa premissa, cada convidado representou um estilo
musical pelo qual o TIHUANA sempre transitou com muita originalidade e honestidade.
Di e Gee do Nx Zero deram o toque Rock and Roll. Zeider do Planta & Raiz representou com honras o Reggae, André Ramiro trouxe o RAP e os Mcs Junior e Leonardo fizeram uma das mais inusitadas participações do DVD, fundindo o funk carioca com as guitarras pesadas do Tihuana. O toque feminino ficou por conta da participação mais que especial da cantora e
compositora Ivy, dividindo os vocais na música "Outra História".
Para acompanhar essas "viagens" musicais, a banda contou com o apoio de um naipe de metais (Sax Barítono, Sax Tenor, Trombone e Trompete), Laércio da Costa na percussão, do índio Ramón nos instrumentos andinos (quena e charango), Jonas Moncaio no violoncello e o Dj JF nos "batidões" do pancadão funk.
O Tihuana conta com o paulistano Egypcio nos vocais, o argentino Román no baixo, o carioca P.G. na bateria, o baiano "Baía" na percussão e o "carioca de criação" Leo nas guitarras.
Com mais de 700 shows na carreira, incluindo turnês nos EUA e Japão, a banda está preparada para começar a turnê do cd/dvd "TROPA DE ELITE AO VIVO".

(SAO PAOLO, BRAZIL) Fans of TIHUANA have been waiting a long time for a live recording of the popular Brazilian rock band. Now, the first official recording, highlighting nearly 10 years of band's tremendous energy and best career moments on and off Brazilian stages, is to be released. 'Elite Squad Live' in CD and DVD will be available in stores across the country beginning May, 20th, 2008.
'Elite Squad Live' was recorded in the East of São Paulo on Christmas Eve, 2007. An incredible stage, lights, sound and scenery structure was built in order to allow the band to expose all of its essence, highlighting its traditional sound mix composed of many influences. Following this premise, each invited musical guest was brought on to represent one musical style frequently used by TIHUANA.
Musical guests include Di and Gee of the NX ZERO, who produced the Rock and Roll touch. Zeider from PLANTA & RAIZ, who contributed the Reggae. André Ramiro, who brought his unique Rap style, and MCs Junior and Leonardo, who made one of the most important participations on the DVD, introducing the Rio de Janeiro funk with the TIHUANA hard guitars. Special participation from the vocals of singer and composer Ivy added a feminine touch to the song 'Outra História'.
In order to achieve all these musical 'journeys', the band counted on the support of a team of metals, the great brazilian percussion Laércio da Costa, the Indian Ramón playing the Andean instruments (quena and charango), Jonas Moncaio playing the violoncello and DJ J.F. performing the strong sound of the funk.
TIHUANA counts on Sao Paolo native Egypcio in the vocals; Román from Argentina on the bass; P.G. from Rio de Janeiro in the drums; Baía from Bahia in the percussion and voices; and Leo, raised in Rio de Janeiro, on the guitars.
With a career of more than 700 shows, including tours in the USA and Japan, TIHUANA will announce soon its first European tour to launch its sixth work, the CD and DVD 'Elite Squad Live'.
