Formed in 1998 as a childhood hobby, “ClanDestino De Chihuahua has grown up in the music business. Starting off as a Tigres del Norte cover band which only played for family and friends, Clandestino De Chihuahua has came a long way musically as well as professionally. As time passed the group decided to venture into different musical genres including Norteno, Texano, and Cumbia. Influenced heavily by groups such as Control, Atrapado, Intenso, and Pesado, they have covered music of all genres and the group soon ventured out of the garage and on to the club scene under the guidance of Manager/father Ernesto Ornelas. By the fall of 2002, the group had formed it's identity as a Cumbia Nortena group and recorded "Buscando El Baile." An elaborate and ambitious 1st record which had a solid mix of danceable cumbia, traditional corridos, and heart melting ballads. The groups followup 2003's "Dejate Llevar" had a similar mix, followed by 2004's Ritmo Sabroson.

After the release of their third record, Clandestino decided to part ways with Muzik Records in Odessa Tx, and venture further south to record their 4th effort, 2005's Aguanta Corazon recorded in Ojinaga Chihuahua, for the independent label Vismar Records, ran by the norteno music veterans Amanecer. The result was a much more mature record in which they ventured out of the formula of the last three records, and experimented with different styles. Such as Regetton and Rap, they also added a Saxophone which made for a more well rounded record which is unique because it appeals to younger and older audiences alike it has a songs for every age group. Followed by the year 2008 ClanDestino thought it was time for a new album. Changing the name of the band from Tigritos de Chihuahua to ClanDestino De Chihuahua Recoring at A.C.E. Records, a major recording label in Houston TX, resulted in joining the Exclusive artists of ACE Records such as Conjunto Agua Azul, Los Pescadores del Rio Conchos . The New album titled "Mas Nortenos Que Nunca" was realeased out to the public in April 2008 still with the name Tigritos De Chihuahua led to the recording of their 6th album in 2009 with ACE Records entitled Paso A Paso with the name change to ClanDestino de Chihuahua. The band remains young and determined, ranging from ages 18 to 26. The band has played much of the southwestern United States, as well as the mid west, and have even ventured as far as Florida. They’ve played alongside numerous bands such as Kumbia Kings, Control, Los Capi, Chicos del Barrio, Hurracanes del Norte, Alicia Villareal, Palomo, K-paz, Montez, Diana Reyes, Rieleros Del Norte, Beto Terrazas and many others. Currently living in Lakin, Kansas, Clandestino continues to perform live and win audiences over and over with their unique style of norteno music.
