Song 9 from the album Hand Drum Harmony

Thundering Spirit is a First Nations Powwow & Round Dance Drum group from the Enoch Cree Nation. The group was originally formed in 1997 and has since travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United States singing, drumming and performing at various celebrations and gatherings for people of all walks of life.

Throughout the fall and winter months, the group travels to many round dances across Indian country, supporting the many families and communities that host these ceremonial events. Their passion for round dance singing has a very deep meaning, as it is a means of connecting with our sacred relatives and those that have gone on before us. The songs too are special in that their purpose is to help facilitate healing for the listener through the power of the Drum and the ancient spirit of song.

Thundering Spirit actively promotes the First Nations Culture through educational and interactive Song & Dance presentations and workshops. Their focus has always been aimed at the youth, as it is the youth that will one day have the responsibility of carrying the traditional teachings forward for future generations to come.

Thundering Spirit currently has two Powwow CDs to date: Dance Your Style! (2006) and Good Life (2007). They also have two Hand Drum albums: One Fire Vol. 1 (2008) and One Fire Vol. 2 (2010). Thundering Spirit is grateful for the
opportunity to record a round dance album with Crazy Cutz Records, as they hope to continue to get their music out to
the people across Turtle Island. Hiy Hiy...
