Music is music. It's not difficult to make. In fact, it's very easy. Anyone can do it. It doesn't matter if you can't play an instrument or you can't sing. All you have to do is use your imagination. Music is not right or wrong. It's not even good or bad-It's whatever you want it to be. So create it and share it. If one person sings your song or hums your melody, you have succeeded. Three Little Birds is the name of the project I use to write, record, and produce music. I play all of the instruments and record it all myself. There is a beauty in recording music yourself as well as a downfall. The positive aspect is all of the ideas are yours. The downfall is that all of the ideas are yours. Therefore, every decision you make with your music is one in which you have to dig deep to find. There is no bouncing ideas off other people or songwriters. There is no Paul to your John and no John to your Paul. But that's ok-I'd rather be George. Music has always been about a feeling with me. Once, in a music appreciation class in college, my teacher asked, "How many of you listen to the lyrics when you listen to a song?" Everybody raised their hand but me-every single person. She then asked, "How many people listen to the music?" I raised my hand-alone. It was then I realized most people don't listen to and feel music like I do. I have never been one to try to sing perfectly or play my guitar in tune. To me, it's just not important. What is important is the feeling you get when you hear a song. So, don't expect to hear perfection from me-I don't admire those who chase it. I admire those people in life who are real-musicians who are real. The most important thing I can do with my music is to let you, the listener, feel what I feel when I hear a song. If I can do that with my music, that is all I need. Success will be achieved.
