THOMAS WISSING (GERMAN BIOGRAPHY)



Nach einer zweijährigen Welttournee mit über 60 Konzerten in den USA und insgesamt mehr als 100 Konzerten in zahlreichen europäischen Kneipen, Clubs, Fußgängerzonen und Theatern kehrt der Singer/Songwriter Thomas Wissing nun in seine Heimat Deutschland zurück, um uns seine Geschichten vom Leben und seine Erfahrungen mit anderen Kulturen mit wunderschöner, zeitloser und poetischer Musik zu erzählen.



Er liebt Johnny Cash und der Vergleich fällt aufgrund seiner markanten, tiefen und eingängigen Stimme zunächst leicht, doch sobald man sein mehr als 2-stündiges Programm einmal live erlebt hat, merkt man schnell, dass der amerikanische Countrystar lediglich geringen Einfluss auf den eigenständigen Stil von Thomas Wissing genommen hat.

Von geradlinigen Singer/Songwriter Balladen über Country bis hin zu Americana und Folk-Rock vermischt der deutsche Entertainer an der Gitarre alles was gefällt und musikalisch anspricht mit herrlichen Anekdoten aus dem eigenen Leben.
So verwundert es nicht, dass er auf jedem Konzert Einladungen für private Partys und weitere Konzerte erhielt.



Thomas Wissing lebt und liebt die Musik und blickt ohne Reue auch auf ein Dutzend veröffentlichter Alben als Schlagzeuger einer Death-Metal-Band zurück. Sicherlich ein weiterer Meilenstein in seiner noch jungen Karriere, die den amerikanischen Singer/Songwriter aus Deutschland einzigartig macht.

THOMAS WISSING (ENGLISH BIOGRAPHY)



We live in a time of been there, done that cynicism, when nothing impresses us, and artists try too hard to be original, or at the very least come up with something everybody will like. Thomas Wissing, whose songs are fresh and startlingly original , doesn't have to buy into any of that. He doesn't need to invent some esoteric hybrid or fashion a style.



Wissing, born and raised in Westphalia,Germany, pours out his soul in English working a panoramic blend of roots-Americana rock and brilliantly produced rhythms. His earnest blend of acoustic and electric guitars, thoughtful lyrics, and vocal gymnastics draws from the Memphis sounds of Sun Studios.
The surprise chesnut at the heart of the music is the dynamic, fiery delivery of Wissing himself, whose voice is by turns deep and commanding, feather-light and breezy, and as rich and sensual as dark-chocalate fondue.
His songs are stylistically fearless and the soundscapes he creates are so textured that they transcend multiple genres. In every song he composes, Wissing makes it difficult to discern where tradition ends and modernity begins -- the indelible mark of truly progressive artistry.
