UPCOMING HAPPENINGS AND HAPPENSTANCES:We are currently cooped up in our new rehearsal space/studio/home affectionately named The Poppermost, busy fleshing out our next and very best album, titled- IN THE WAKE OF ATROPHY: A Poignant Album For Heartsick Humans. You will love it.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY!The first night the noisy baroque-pop quintet THIS IS MY SUITCASE met the underage bluegrass prodigy, Billy "Boomer", he scolded the band: "You fags, I can't get this fuckin' song out of my head". That pretty much wraps it all up, Boomer. The band had the privilege of meeting this exceptional individual in Lansing, Michigan, during their exceptional 2009 tour, named STILL TOO LOUD: A Fall Tour Concert Series. The band has booked and then ventured on four increasingly-great tours in support of their two increasingly-great, self-recorded and produced releases: Missent To Thailand (2005) and The Keys To Cat Heaven (2009, with help from label Paper+Plastick). The band's absolutely best record, In The Wake Of Atrophy, will be recorded early next year, or so they would tell you; then again, they are crazy.

MUSIC! This Is My Suitcase has unleashed an inordinate amount of self-recorded music for free through the majesty and convenience of the internet. If you have been following our band long enough to scoop up this music over the last few years, congratulations. This list includes the following free online releases: The C ep (2006) 1. Me & YouThe best love song i will ever write. 2. Manes Visits the Manor A song about a royal postmortem love. 3. The Skin is the Healthy PartLove between a boy and his apple, through life and, inevitably, death 4. Apples and Townies An all-too-true story about young love in New York City. The C.R.E. ep (2007)1. Stayin' InPostmortem love, what else?2. Not BonesThis reason my heart turned toward composing.3. Bones Still loving while burning alive. 4. Cat Sounds A kitten killed himself 9 times upon the death of his best friend. A nameless ep i recorded for the love of recording (2007)1. Jesusfreak One step further into a love for outrageous orchestration2. The Stray We made our own no-budget video for this song. rules!3. God Only Knows (Beach Boys cover, obviously)The Greatest song ever written, my take. And then there's our covers.Directly resulting from a sheer love of recording myself, This Is My Suitcase has self-recorded and released an insurmountable heap of cover songs (or, rather: reimaginations and rewrites), including and yet not limited to the following: The Old 97s, We Are Scientists, Fiona Apple, Ben Folds, Motion City Soundtrack, Dr Dog, The Matches, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nellie Mckay, a heartbreaking ukulele rendition of Michael Jackson's classic "Ben" (recorded on the day he died), and too many more to ever list.Tour Theme SongsAs if that weren't enough unpaid work on our plates, we have recorded and web-released a tour theme song for every tour we've ventured on, including themes for:1. The SPIRING HAS SPRUNG SO SING UNTIL SPRING'S SPANG TOUR (May 2009)2.It Must Be July: A Summer Concert Series in A Major (July 2009)3. STILL TOO LOUD: a midwest fall tour schedule (October 2009)4. CURRENTLY: MARCH INTO MARCH LIKE WE'RE ONLY HALF AS LONELY AS WE ARE (a february/march 2010 tour adventure)

And, without further adieu, OUR FULL LENGTH ALBUMS:

Missent to Thailand(2006) The first This Is My Suitcase full-length/physical release. Only 1000 copies were pressed, and the remaining copies are available at shows for $5, although not many are left. It has thirteen songs and enhanced content, including ancient live videos and handwritten lyrics.

The Keys To Cat Heaven (2009)The band's latest full length album, The Keys To Cat Heaven, is their best collection to date. They're certain of it. As with everything else in the Suitcase discography, it was self-recorded/produced/mixed. This album took a year to record, and two years to create altogether. Worth it!

If you are fed up with paying full price for albums that lack french horn featurettes and string quartets; if your record collection feels void of cat and ghost content, lyrically-speaking; if your album art collection feels incomplete without a cat ghost, literally-speaking; if you immediately need your body to build an immunity to a virulent swarm of dancing falsettos and flutes; if you have been digging for records that will highlight that you are both playful and witty; if you want an album that you can stream at an appropriate volume from your apartment window to prove to passer-bys that you are intelligent and ironic; if you have been looking for a solid album to rattle the tiles from your roof while you bang your head; if you wish that Sesame Street sing-alongs sounded more like old Flaming Lips albums; if you wish that new Flaming Lips albums sounded more like vintage Sesame street records, we have the album for you:

The Keys To Cat Heaven.
