The X is the project created by Ivan Lopez and Juanma Vidal in Valencia, in 2006, after the dissolution of its previous band, The Xperimental Shop. From the beginning, The X is conceived like an evolution of its previous sound, and for it, they decide to count on Pere Munuera, Alessandro Cesarini and Paco Beltran like the final pieces of the perfect gear. Each musician comes from a different style (Jazz, Reggae, Rock, ambient, electro…) and The X Engine begins to work surpassing their own expectations. After a year composing and selecting the 11 songs chosen for their debut album, they spent 2 months at Millenia Studios in Valencia recording their first work, "Neutralizer", recorded and produced by themselves and mixed by Ivan Lopez and the valencian producer Vicente Sabater. In June of 2007, The X contact with Fecko (from Mentenblanko) to co-produce their first video, "The Glow", and 3 months later they edit The X "Neutralizer", with the design created by Ivan Lopez and with the Millenia Studios record label. In February of 2008, Ramon Ferrer joins The X as a live engineer and after making some gigs on Spain, they receive the supply from the record label "Galileo MC", to reedit "Neutralizer" in a DeLuxe Edition including a dvd and so many extras. At that same moment they begin to work on the dvd "The X Visions", that includes 2 live songs, 3 remixes with video-art from Rafa Monzo (Tanaka-clan), a documentary of the recording process, directed by Ivan Lopez and Juanma Vidal called "The Neutralizer Sessions" and their new video, "Dark Lights", also directed by themselves. On September of 2009, the new edition of The X "Neutralizer" is released in Spain and Germany, this time, with Galileo MC. On May of 2010, after several TV Shows and the success on the Media (Rolling Stone, Mondosonoro, El Pais, Westzeit…), The X is nominated for The Independent Music Awards 2010 organized by the UFI with the support of Radio3. Now, they're immersed in the "Neutralizer Tour" and working on their second album. Valencia, en el año 2006, tras la disolución de su anterior grupo, The
Xperimental Shop. Desde un principio, The X se concibe como una
evolución de su anterior sonido, y para ello deciden contar con Pere
Munuera, Alessandro Cesarini y Paco Beltrán como piezas finales
del engranaje perfecto. Cada músico proviene de un estilo distinto
(Jazz, Reggae, Rock, ambient, electrónica. ) y la maquinaria X
comienza a funcionar superando sus propias expectativas.
Tras un año componiendo y seleccionando los 11 temas que habían
elegido para su ábum de debut, se recluyen 2 meses en los
estudios Millenia de Valencia y dan forma a su primer trabajo,
"Neutralizer", grabado y producido por ellos mismos y mezclado por
Iván López y el productor valenciano Vicente Sabater.
En Junio del 2007, The X contacta con Fecko (Mentenblanko) para
co-producir y dirigir su primer videoclip, "The Glow", y 3 meses
después autoeditan The X "Neutralizer", con el diseño creado por
Iván López y bajo el sello Millenia Records.
En Febrero del 2008, se suma Ramón Ferrer como técnico de directo
del grupo y tras realizar múltiples conciertos por toda España,
reciben la oferta por parte de la compañía Galileo MC, de reeditar
"Neutralizer" en formato de lujo incluyendo un dvd y todo tipo de
extras. En ese mismo instante comienzan a perfilar lo que sería el
dvd "The X Visions", que incluye 2 temas en directo, 3 remixes con
video-arte a cargo de Rafa Monzó (Tanaka-clan), un documental
sobre el proceso de grabación realizado por Iván López y Juanma
Vidal llamado "The Neutralizer Sessions" y un nuevo videoclip,
"Dark Lights", también dirigido por ellos mismos.
El 21 de Septiembre de 2009, se pone a la venta la nueva edición de
The X "Neutralizer" en España (El Corte Inglés, Fnac, etc.) y
Alemania, esta vez, de la mano de Galileo MC.
En Mayo del 2010, tras varias apariciones televisivas (Conciertos de
Radio3, MTV, Sol Música.) y las buenas críticas recibidas por los
medios (Rolling Stone, Mondosonoro, El País, Westzeit.), The X son
nominados para los Premios de la Música Independiente 2010
organizados por la UFI con el apoyo de Radio3.
Actualmente están inmersos en la gira de presentación de
"Neutralizer", que les ha llevado por las ciudades más importantes
de la península y tambien han participado con dos temas en la
banda sonora de la película "3 metros sobre el cielo".
