From the streets of Queens, New York the borough that has spawned legendary rap artists from RUN-DMC to 50 Cent comes a man from hip hops golden era, DJ WIZ. A graduate of hip hops old school, DJ WIZ has been spinning for more than fifteen years, and has inspired a new generation of modern deejays along the way. With inspiration from rap pioneers such as Grandmaster Flash, DJ Kool Herc, Jam Master Jay, DJ Red Alert and Afrika Bambaataa, DJ WIZ fashioned a stylish stage persona that reflected his true nature smart, positive, classy and chic.

DJ WIZ broke onto the rap scene in 1990 as the mix master for one of the genres most revered and popular groups, KID N PLAY. Along with childhood friends Christopher Kid Reid and Christopher Play Martin, DJ WIZ helped pave a road that would lead other artists from the hood into the mainstream. During the early 90s, KID N PLAY enjoyed many successes, recording a string of top selling LPs and making a major splash on the big screen in the cult classic House Party films from Reginald Hudlin, as well as an animated television series.

Throughout their run, DJ WIZ stood tall between his partners Kid and Play, and played an integral part in the group's many successes. DJ WIZ appeared in the second House Party in 1991, while also appearing in 1992s Class Act and 1993s Whos the Man with fellow Queens natives and hip hop legends Doctor Dre and Ed Lover.

DJ WIZ has also enjoyed success on the small screen, lending his considerable talent and charm as the house deejay to the Arsenio Hall-produced variety series The Party Machine with Nia Peeples. He

Was featured numerous times on Halls wildly popular late night talk show, and even appeared as himself and provided his own voice for the animated Kid N Play television series. Additionally, WIZ appeared with KID N PLAY on television shows including Soul Train, Showtime at the Apollo, BETs Rap City, and Sesame Street. He was even a presenter at the first-ever Billboard Awards (giving an award to Mariah Carey). DJ WIZ has also brought his unique brand of hip hop flava to television specials including The Essence Awards, Comic Relief and the NBA's Stay-in-School Jam.

Throughout the 90s KID N PLAY and DJ WIZ also continued to make their mark on the music industry, releasing a number of albums, including Funhouse, 2 Hype, Face The Nation, and 2 Fingers, as well as three House Party original soundtracks -- all considered rap classics today. The group logged many miles on the road, touring with the likes of Salt n Pepa, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, Bobby Brown, MC Hammer, Heavy D and the Boyz, N.W. A and Naughty By Nature.

In the late 90s, Reid and Martin decided to part ways. Reid hit the road to pursue a stand-up comedy career, while Martin moved to North Carolina to produce gospel theater. That left one man standing behind the turntables. Not missing a beat, DJ WIZ set his sights on honing his skills and becoming one of the countrys most sought-after deejays and he did not fail.

As the 90s ended and the millennium arrived, DJ WIZ traveled the country from coast to coast and border to border carving out his niche and establishing his legend. After a lengthy stay in Hollywood, DJ WIZ uprooted himself from Tinsletown and returned home to Queens, New York, a move that has been an inspiration for him. Returning home has given him a chance to reflect on his storied past and given him a clear vision for the future. A predecessor of some of todays top hip hop personalities such as Funkmaster Flex and DJ Skribble, DJ WIZ continues to work tirelessly and passionately throughout New York City and beyond to remain at the top of his game. He continues to stay varied and skillful and serve as a inspirational mentor to the next generation of hip hop deejays and emerging artists.

Among his many appearances throughout the five boroughs, DJ WIZ has found a home at Americas Premier Comedy Nightclub, Carolines on Broadway as The Man behind "the wheels of steel" at THE GREG CHARLES SHOW, and his own weekly comedy show, The Carolines Comedy Mix!
