THE UNFINISHED SYMPATHY - Give Up Dig Down

THE UNFINISHED SYMPATHY - HOMEDRUNK

BIOGRAPHY:

Started in 2000 with a demo that came to the hands of hardcore-punk label BCore, which signed them up. First album "The unfinished sympathy" in 2001 had such a good response that led them to their first spanish and european tours, including the recording of a John Peel Session at London's BBC, being the first spanish band ever to be invited to the show.

An extensive european tour with american band Joshua, a german tour with labelmates Maple and support for Jimmy Eat World and Bad Religion led them to their second album, "An investment in logistics" in 2003. It reached Top 1 at main spanish indie newspaper Mondo Sonoro, and number 3 for Rock Sound in their annual polls, and started to appear on the covers of specialised magazines.

Another exhaustive german tour and a second visit to the BBC studios to record another Peel Session were quickly followed by their third album, "Rock for food" (2004) which also reached Top 1, this time for Rock Sound, and number 2 for Mondo Sonoro. Before that, the advance single "This living kills" had such a big acclaim thanks to the awarded 35mm video and the cover of Undertones' classic "Teenage kicks". A second single was released some months later including some tracks in acoustic format, recorded live at the auditorium of "La Pedrera" building by Antoni GaudĂ.

In 2006 they signed for Subterfuge Records and recorded their fourth album "We push you pull". The release of an EP with remixes of their single "Spin in the rye" plus extended touring (including the performance on 2007's edition of Festival Internacional de Benicassim (FiB) showed them at their best with both critical and audience acclaim.

In summer 2007 they recorded in one day an 8-song acoustic session at Ultramarinos Costa Brava Studio, produced by Victor Garcia, which was released as "Love athletic" on may 26 and one week later as an extra CD for the deluxe "We push you pull" re-issue. Some acoustic shows before summer 2008 brought absolutely new versions of highlights like "Spin in the rye", "This living kills", "Gratitude" or "Rock for food" and a cover of Beatles' "Run for your life".

In October 2008 they entered the studio to record "Avida Dollars", released in march 2009 and currently being presented worldwide, with highlight appearances at Festival Internacional de Benicassim (FiB), Barcelona BAM, Austin's SXSW and many others.
