The Ukulele Gangstas r a Deal, Kent-based rap/funk/punky quartet consisting of the odd and disturbingly idiosyncratic blend of Uke, voice, bass n' drums (and also a little touch of kazoo, stylofone and a gui-board).

They play strictly they're own choons and capture working class living in all it's strugglin' glory.

Born last october (2007) the gangsta tribe have plagued London with performances everywhere from the grime of Camden's Barfly to the Calvin Klein guff of Chinawhite nightclub. Supporting Alabama 3 at their request, and have played Club NME for the national music weekly. They have been played on London's XFM radio on the John Kennedy show, and have appeared in The Daily Mirror, NME and Timeout magazine.

They have played Brighton several times and naturally have performed in Kent on an avalanche of occasions.

After a sell-out EP release Party at the Farmhouse in Canterbury, The Ukulele Gangstas' long awaited debut EP - Mentally Ill 'n' Hetereosexual - is out now on Smugglers Records, being sold at local record shops, ( SoundHouse in Deal, Funky Munks in Canterbury and Gatefield Sounds in Herne Bay ) from the Gangstas at their gigs and will soon be available to purchase online.

"The Ukulele Gangstas are a bright addition to the planet's entertainment. Glam bling hippy space cadets with a fine array of highly entertaining scuffle-pop songs, they are very new, but already the stuff that cults are made of." God Is In The TV Fanzine

"We loved their bonkers ska-meets-Slade-meets-The Wurzels image and the floor filling, knees-up tunes!" Offline Club
