The truth consists of three emcees out of the north side of Minneapolis. Shaun p, big Rico, and Joey brown came together in early 2003 with a goal to hit the industry with words they had never heard before. After working with numerous artists, producers, promoters, and engineers, they created many projects that hit the streets with a big bang capturing the essence of the street mentality with life like vivid pictures they created over beats

Shaun p was raised by a single mother on the out skirts of Minneapolis and found the street lifestyle at the young age of 15 and started writing song that painted pictures of the everyday struggle to survive. His style is very unique as you can feel his pain through his voice but yet the clever word play of a lyrical magician. With his goal to link up with others that felt his passion for the music and the work ethic that is necessary to make it in the industry. Finding Big Rico and Joey Brown the created the powerhouse group The Truth and worked on many mixtapes that would be a outlet for there rhymes to shin on industry beats. Big Rico grew up in the north side of Minneapolis with six brothers and one sister and after losing one of his brothers to the streets he decided to take his rap career seriously. Perfecting a unique style that he called his NEWS style because it draws from the north, east, west, and south he made a name for himself in the streets for his aggressive flow and clever metaphors. After meeting who he considered to be his equals Shaun p and Joey brown he joined The Truth and the rest is history in the making. Joey Brown grew up in a 2 parent household on the north side of Minneapolis, influenced by what he saw on the near by street corners he was able to use his ability with his rhymes and voice to reach out to those in the hood that shared his everyday struggles. After linking up with Shaun p and Big Rico in 2003 near the neighborhood they all spent there childhood in they created the group The Truth. Joey is very versatile with his rhymes being able to capture the hearts of women and the minds of men who are in the same struggle as him.
