One thing about Melbourne singer/songwriter Lindsay West that can't be debated is that there's never a dull moment when he's around. As a rock performer, Lindsay lies somewhere in the middle of Paul Stanley, Meat Loaf, Jon Bon Jovi and Lemmy. He commands a powerful voice that screams guts, glory and gravel as well as soul-stirringly sweet. That's just one of the staples which make his performances unforgettable. His ability to pour everything into every moment of every song is another. His songs combine the power and bombast of acts such as Shihad, Nickelback & The Darkness with the raw emotion of the likes of Silverchair, Live & U2. The result is a blend of youthful exuberance & dark intensity, which is always emotional and accessible.
Lindsay has recorded tracks for an impending release with ARIA Award-winning rock producer Peter "Reggie" Bowman, featuring guest guitarists Irwin Thomas (Electric Mary, Southern Sons), & renowned session great Mario Riccioni.
Lindsay's real strength as a live performer will be demonstrated when his solo band hits a stage near you soon. He showcases his songwriting ability with tracks like "Inside", a saucy tongue-in-cheek slice of rock'n'roll fun and "Lethal Weapon", rock'n'roll aggression with freight-train intensity & sledgehammer lyrics wrapped in a headbutt. Often included in his live show is a cover of the classic Cyndi Lauper ballad "Time After Time", which Lindsay has re-envisioned with hot guitars and thundering drums whilst keeping the heartfelt emotion intact. On occasion he has also been known to treat his rapidly growing fan base to a live performance of his haunting piano ballad, "Still I Walk Alone". As a testimony to his versatility as a live performer, Lindsay is an in-demand fill-in frontman for many of Melbourne's top party bands, and also tours nationally playing the role of Paul Stanley in KISS THISS - The Ultimate KISS Tribute Show.
