“You're either a Fan or you haven't heard him yet!" - Harrisburg Music Festival, P.A.

Multi-faceted guitarist/singer-songwriter Trevor Finlay has stormed stages around the world from his native Canada to Australia and France, wowing audiences and winning fans everywhere. He is now setting his sights again on his audience with an exciting new tour and "Live" Bootleg Album. On March 12, 2010, Trevor and his band did a show at Norm's River Roadhouse in Nashville, TN. As luck would have it, the tape was rolling and seven songs were chosen for release on what will be Trevor's newest CD in 5 years! The official studio album is due in early 2011!

The EP is called BOOTLEG and it's Trevor Finlay in his purest form!

Onstage, Finlay is a musical dynamo, showcasing an eclectic, stir-fried mix of hard-driving roots rock, rock and rockabilly on electric guitar and Violap. Whether performing solo or backed by his new band, he’s an engaging and highly-popular crowd-pleaser. His stage credits are equally impressive: he’s played with or opened for John Hiatt, James Brown, Kid Rock, Booker T & the MG’s, Chris Isaac, Johnny Winter and Buddy Guy.

As one of Canada’s best-known independent artists, Finlay has built a strong fan base, steady radio airplay, numerous awards and nominations, and critical media recognition from publications such as Billboard and Real Blues. During his years of touring there, the artist released four CDs: Morning Man (1998), Bumpy Roads (2001), the all-acoustic Home Tonight (2003), and Show Me What U Got (2005). Yet in early 2008, Finlay made the decision to relocate from Canada to Nashville to focus on his songwriting and performing in a town famous for its down-home Southern roots and musical creativity. Since then, Finlay has written with some of Nashville’s best songwriters, and performed in many of its top showcase venues, including the Bluebird Café, Douglas Corner and 3rd & Lindsley. The move has only enhanced his music.

“I can’t be easily pegged as a bluesman, a country artist or a rocker. There’s way too much music out there to have tunnel vision.” says Finlay. “I’m fascinated by people. As a songwriter I inevitably write about the multifarious ways in which people try to relate to each other. There are all sorts of different angles that you can look at all this. That’s the stuff I really enjoy writing about.”

No wonder Finlay is winning legions of new fans Stateside through his unique talent, lyrical and guitar ingenuity, and observational acuity. His songs masterfully explore both the quirks of everyday life and the mysteries of the heart with wry, clever wordplay. Clearly it’s just a matter of time before American audiences discover what Canadian fans already know: Trevor Finlay is a true original and an unforgettable performer.
