MyspaceDaddy.com - Myspace Codes"When you don't want to live and you can't die, you just exist.that's the dark side." Take it from first hand experience, Toledo knows. It is from the underbelly of human existence that Toledo's voice rises triumphantly, almost to say, "Am I still here? Dance to my story!" He takes the voice of the lost, and with the verve of a Louis Armstrong purr and Tom Waits growl, he claims the smoke-filled limelight that he invariably shares with fishnet-clad scarlet-mouthed fallen angels. He has walked the razor's edge with heroin, and a bassist's insistence of mouthing his poetry to music pulled him back from the icy deep. In fact his genre might be called "heroin jazz", with a trip inside the tormented mind, with the light of the spirit squeaking it's defiant way through the cage of the body. The music and rhythm, if the vocalizations are listened to like an instrument, could be played at any party or art gallery opening, but it is said that his live shows rival any Bob Fosse production, and rightly they should. Toledo has worn choreographer's hat for the likes of Paula Abdul, George Michael, Janet Jackson, and Us3, et al. Not too shabby, for "a cat who came from nowhere and ended up somewhere cool."
