The Tim Turner Band formed in late 2002 /early 2003 when Tim Turner and Jed Smith approached Dale LeBoeuf to form a blues / rock type band , including anything that has heart , soul , and grooves .They feel that they had reached thier goals with the classics and originals they preformed .
Since then Jed Smith has moved to Nashville to live . They then hired Jamey Bell to replace Jed . Jamey has played with people like Steve Conn , Sonny Landreth , and many more . Jamey then got a gig with Monte Montgomery , the great guitar player from Austin , TX . It was at this time of Tim's life that he stopped and thought about what he wanted to do in life . And that was to play music for a living . So it was time to get serious .
On March the 3rd 2008, Tim moved to Nashville , TN . Tim moved so that he could persue music more . Tim reformed the band with original drummer Jed Smith and bassist Rob Bratcher . Their first all original cd was completed March 2009 . They have played a few dates in Nashville and recently opened for Blues Traveler at the " Quein on the Red " festival in Alexandria , La .
With the sky as the limit , they are aiming to keep going till they can one day play for a living as they all dream of doing .
Here's what is on cd baby's website about the new album : Tim Turner would like to thank you for taking the time to check out his latest project. This project was recorded in two different states, Louisiana, and Tennessee. It was started in Louisiana and finished when Tim relocated to Nashville, Tn. Instead of the normal three piece sound, Tim went for a different sound on this project.” I decided to add organ to a lot of the songs. I also have one song (Travelin alone) which I wanted a couple of my local (Louisiana) hero’s to play on. I got Shane Ward (Slide Guitar) and Odell Wilson (Guitar) to record a solo each. Shane also plays slide on” Clarksdale, Ms “. I also have three different bassist playing on this project. H.B Smith, Dale LeBoeuf, and my current bassist Rob Bratcher. I also have two different drummers on here. Jamey Bell (who has played with Sonny Landreth and Monte Montgomery) did the Louisiana sessions, and my current drummer, Jed Smith did all the Tennessee sessions. I also decided to only record originals this time. All thirteen songs are written by Tim Turner. The first song, Sonny, is a little instrumental I wrote with my son in mind. Like my son it’s short and quick. Syd is the other instrumental I wrote .It’s for my daughter, Sydney. I was trying to write my own “Little Wing “. I think it fits her well. The whole first “Major “solo representing her happy mood but changing quickly for when she gets angry. Songs like “ Baby of Mine “ , “Long Gone” , “Travelin Alone “,” It anit Nothing “ , “Magicstratblues “, and “ Funky Cat “ ,were written awhile back . “Mystery Love” was written when I was trying to come up with something I thought Eric Clapton would play. It is one of my favorites on the cd. “The Angels Sing “lyrics was written at Wednesday night church and I wrote the chords when I got home.”N2 Da magic “was a fun song to record. I wanted a sound effect prelude before “Magicstratblues “. Really fun to record and turned out pretty cool. It was a blast to record and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.
