I componenti della band ''The Swing Thing'' si sono incontrati nel 2001 con in testa un progetto musicale ambizioso: esprimere attraverso un percorso musicale l'essenza dello ''Swing'' a partire dagl'anni '40 fino al moderno Neo-Swing .
Ogni pezzo riproposto profuma di storia, é figlio dei tempi che lo hanno partorito e il nostro compito e cercare di trasmetterne l'essenza durante un esibizione dal vivo. Swing, jump, jive e rock & roll, sono questi gli ingredienti principali del nostro repertorio. Una musica divertente e coinvolgente, decisa durante una cena della band.
Una musica con influenze di nomi quali Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Dean Martin.
Il nostro repertorio comprende brani italiani (Buscaglione, Carosone, ecc.), non escludendo naturalmente brani Italo-Americani molto conosciuti scritti dal su citato Louis Prima ed altri nomi illustri dell'epoca swing. In questi anni la formazione ha subito dei cambiamenti mantenendo pero uno zoccolo duro attorno al quale sono ruotati diversi componenti.
La band ha ormai raggiunto un certo equilibrio e un affiatamento consolidato da un intensa attivita concertistica. Attualmente i componenti sono: DANIELE SANTORO - pianoforte ;

About the band:
The members of “The Swing Thing” got together in 2001 with an ambitious music program in mind: express the essence of “Swing” from the 1940s on across a musical course. There is history in every song preformed, and each song is the child of the time of which it was given birth. We wish to transmit that essence during our live concerts. Swing, jive, rock & roll, these are the main ingredients of our repertoire. Music that is fun going and that makes you want to get up and dance. Music influenced by big names such as Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Dean Martin. Our repertoire also includes Italian songs (Buscaglione, Carosone, etc.) and well-known Italo-American songs composed by the above mentioned Louis Prima and other renowned names of the swing era. During the years the band has always maintained a solid core round which different musicians have rotated. Today the band seems to have reached a stable set up and harmony consolidated by an intense concert activity.
