As THE BIG TAKEOVER USA magazine editor put it' 'I've long bemoaned that few current bands say anything about surrounding sociopolitical issues. "Broken Ghost Makes old punks say "yea!" plus Ghost is a catchy ditty with a hooky chorus. Bravo!'. The Soles also unify many genres in their sound. "They are a little bit of everything? The Ep is a pleasant listen as lead singer Din has a pretty distinctive voice." - LA BEAT magazine Alberta. The Soles have also been noted for the their spirited and uplifting songs, "The Soles Broken Host Ep serves up non-preachy spiritual enlightenment with an amalgam of Kinks/Replacements power chord slash and burn." - Jamie Vernon, CASHBOX CANADA Magazine. Talented Humber College School of music students Gabe Girard (drums) and Sean Currell (Bass) play with a vitality and urgency not common in the refinement that comes with being professional music students while lead singer Din presents arena-ready vocals and insightful lyrics. In 2008 the Soles released their first official full length record You Burst Into Fire Again. The band got its first break showcasing in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, shortly after they played their first big international show at the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle. In 2011, they released their second effort the Broken Ghost EP which charted in the top-30 on numerous College stations across Canada. In early 2012, they released a digitally only LP of over 20 tracks of unreleased material. The Soles are inspiring and incendiary performers, the kind of group where people say, 'You gotta see them live!'

"The CD [Broken Ghost] is cleverly sequenced to roll out mood and stylistic themes as teaser taste tests. The title track works as a catchy post-punk power pop ditty with Soles teetering between thoughtful reactionary and happy-go-lucky songsmith.
