The Smoking Trees

"What would The Smoking Trees sound like if we were in the studio between 1966-1968?" Well this is what The Smoking Trees sound like in 2008. The Smoking Trees are two musician living in Los Angeles with the knack of a good 60's pop song. Sir Psych (Martin Nunez )(Lead and background Vocals, Drums, and Percussion) and LA.AL ( Al Rivera) (Lead and background Vocals, Guitars and Bass) met in 2000. LA.AL is an East Los Angeles native who has been in several bands. Sir Psych, born in Dallas, Texas is a musician that had been in bands who performed hip hop to rock. When Al and Martin met in 2000 from working at the same job, their two worlds collided. Martin turned Al on to music from the 60's that wasn't really well known to the average oldies radio station. That in which changed Al's view on music in general on what you can do with it. From there the two have been recording music in there spare time in 1960's fasion. Which leads us to now. "Morning Music from Yesterday" is our first true attempt to take away the studio trickery, leave the hisses in the mix, and get down to recording straight up rock and roll again."
