The Skautopsies

During the fiery summer days of 2004, a motley gang of young men flocked to the basement of Douglas Vento, also known as "He Of The White 'Fro." After hearing the myths that this jive ass turkey with a white afro could lay down some very fly drum beats, he was recruited to join The Skautopsies, Moorestown's newest teen pop sensation. The rest was history. We are a 7-piece ska/reggae band that loves The Specials, Johnny Cash, and zombies. Every band member brings very diverse influences to our sound, including dancehall, rockabilly, ska, reggae, soul, rocksteady, and jazz. Trying to avoid the cliche punk-ska band format, we play songs inspired by late 70s/early 80s 2-tone ska greats like The Selecter and Madness, mixed with our own affinity for rock 'n' roll, soul, and the like.
