The Seventh brings you modern black death; heavy, strong and with lots of variation! Here’s the biography of this rising Belgian band, read and enjoy
The roots of the band go back as far as 1998, but given the band’s name was chosen in 2003 and the first steady line up was made in that same year, this can be seen as the official birth of The Seventh. With new member Tony T behind the kit (also in Leng’Tche), brothers Gerhard and Brad V (guitars) spawned their first songs upon the world. Some time later bass player Pete W. and vocalist Tim D. joined the outfit and a new era began
Their first mini-album was released upon the masses in April 2005 and sold out in no time. Together with the tight live performances it opened doors to larger shows and a record deal with the famous underground label Shiver Records.
Unfortunately in October 2005 bass player Pete W. decided to end his life. An enormous shock for the remaining members. However, having taken a short break, they continued their path of destruction with new member Gert O.
After a bunch of shows with international acts as Cryptopsy, Grave, God Dethroned, Aborted, Gojira,in 2006, The Seventh starts working on their first full album.
No effort was spared to make this album a total killer. Accompanied by a crushing sound and amazing artwork, the result exceeded all expectations and was released upon the masses on 07/07/07.
The band worked hard to bring the crowd a kick ass live experience and it payed off
In the summer of 2008 The Seventh was contacted to play on Graspop Metalmeeting, one of Europe's biggest metal festivals. Together with bands as At The Gates, Arch Enemy and Iron Maiden they made the last day of the festival one to remember!
Writing a good album and taking one’s music to a higher level is something that demands time. So the band plays no shows at all for an entire year in 2009 and concentrates on a new album. The writing goes slow but the result proves the long writing break was the right decision.
In 2010 The Seventh is more ready than ever to crush the stages again. This time with a new show AND new songs since the band is thrilled to play the new killers live!
