The Rusty Augers are a country and rock ensemble based out of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. They have recorded two full-length albums of original songs: Damn You Rusty Auger! and Casks of Gold, which have received airplay on many radio stations such as CBC, and are now completing a tribute album to George Jones entitled Jonesin’ With the Augers, featuring guest performances by Tex Emery and Joel Fafard. Besides being an original act they have toured extensively through Saskatchewan and Alberta as a cover band. Performance highlights include 2008 PBR Cabaret at Credit Union Centre (3500+ in attendance), Junofest 2007 in Saskatoon, 2006 and 2007 Cathedral Village Arts Festivals in Regina, opening for Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats and playing a show in Moose Jaw with the legendary pedal steel player Tex Emery. They have recently played at Calgary’s A Bar Named Sue, a Johnny Cash theme bar, the Brooks Hotel for a three-night stand and The Mad Trapper in Inuvik, Northwest Territories for a five-week stint.
