The history of The Retrotones is a true coming of age story. When the seven-piece powerpop/ska outfit played their first show in 2006, most of the members were just fourteen years old, and none were beyond their junior year at Glassboro High School in New Jersey. The band played its first show (a sweet sixteen party in Blackwood, New Jersey) behind a basement pool table. Four years later, they've suffered their fair share of defeats, but just as often, they've accomplished things they had never excpected.

Gone are the days of silly three-chord songs and embarrassing, kitschy covers. We a revamped sound, The Retrotones are striving to get their music heard not only throughout New Jersey, but to anyone, anywhere, who is willing to listen in.

The band has opened for such nationally established acts as Bomb the Music Industry!, The Flatliners, and Barnaby Jones. Furthermore, they’ve made their mark on such venues as the Crocodile Rock Café in Allentown, Philadelphia’s Trocadero, the now-defunct 449 Room in Trenton, The Cup on Staten Island, and The Spot (Wilmington, DE). They’ve also frequented assorted cafes, basements, churches, and any other place that will have them throughout South Jersey and Philadelphia.

In July 2009, The Retrotones released their first album, a self-titled EP which is available at live shows and via mail upon request (send a message through myspace or email). They also have a small selection of merchandise. The band will play anywhere, any time. Simply send a message via Myspace, Facebook, or email theretrotones@gmail.com or andypolhamus@yahoo.com for booking. Come check it out.
