Born into a family of writers and entertainers, Theresa Davis was drawn to the arts. She has expressed her artistic abilities in several mediums. She designed and created Ebony Angels (a line of hand-crafted dolls), Mental Notes (hand-crafted books), started a clothing line for children, and creates visual art using mask making and poetry. A teacher for 19 years, currently teaching middle school using the arts across the curriculum. In 2002, Theresa joined forces with her mother and brother to form the spoken word performance group MoDaSo (Mother/ Daughter/ Son) and released two music CD's "This is for Family" and "The Uncivil War”.



Theresa forged an impressive start as a solo performer, winning poetry slams and featuring at spoken word venues around Atlanta. In August 2005, working with the incredible Dawn Axam movement and words came together in a beautiful collaboration. The poems "Killer" and "Warning Signs" were choreographed as a part of the debut of Mrs. Axam's new dance company. She reclaimed her "Cunt" in the Vagina Monologues sharing the stage with Eve Ensler, Jane Fonda, Pearl Cleage, and the fabulous Doria Roberts. A supporter of Men Stopping Violence she has shared her voice with Bernice Johnson Reagan (of Sweet Honey in The Rock), Doria Roberts and Yolo Akili.



She has self published three collections of poetry "Torn", "Head Games", and "Rock Star Poet". Her Indy recordings include Touched, Rock Star Poet, Theresa Davis is a Poem-o-sexual Live at Eddie's Attic and Rock Star Poet the DVD. She is currently working on a new book of poetry "Poems With the Word Love in Them" and two books of fiction to be completed in the fall of 2009.



Theresa is a member of Word Diversity Collective, Cliterati, and the 2006, 07, 08, and 09 Nationally ranked Art Amok Slam Team.



Theresa can be found raising hell at protest rallies and marches as well as many spoken word venues around Atlanta including Cliterati, Mocha Match, Java Monkey and Kat's Cafe.



Her children Imani (21), Tia (20) and Zion (9) are her constant sources of energy and inspiration.
